The 270win is the best cartridge to hunt with ever.

No...Not sure why anyone would say that..its is a good cal, but why? 7MM Mag easily takes it.. Sorry look at the stats..

There are more factors involved than simple ballistics. If it was just about ballistics we would have little to talk about, and this place would be overrun by gearheads...

It's funny, back before the internet, when Moose and Grizzly tags were available over the counter the 270 was considered to be a big gun.

Let the store and shop ammo shelf demographics speak for themselves as to which calibres most ammo purchasers subscribe to.
The rifle calibres 243 win, 30-30 win, 308 win, 303br, 30-06 sprng, 7mm rem mag, 300 win mag are the ones you'll find in just about any establishment that sells ammo whether it be a crappy tire or a one horse store in bugtustle northern ontario.
Don't see so much of 270 win.
Millions of shooters and hunters over the years have pretty well sifted the wheat from the chaff in regards to the best hunting rounds.
I'll defer the decision to them.

You are kidding, right ?

It was a choice between the sock puppet and a bunch of back stabbing red fake tories so I chose the former.
At least the SP was easy on the eyes.
Harper and blaney not so much.
Even chubby little ralphie is kinda cute.;)

We hunt elk (stateside) & moose as well as deer and the heavier bullets in 30 caliber like the 180, 190, 220 grain top the available 130 & 150 gr bullets which are at the heavy end of the 270 win spectrum.
Elk and moose are where our 30-06 and 300 win mag pushing heavier bullets eclipse the 270 win.

Makes sense to me, I own 4 guns in 30-30 and 3 in 30'06.

We've downsized our rather considerable arsenal over the past 5 years disposing of all of our Canadian handguns as well as cutting down to a basic 3 x shotguns, 2 x 22lr rifles, 7 cf rifles.

0 restricted/prohibs and a dozen nrs. We were able after the downsize to quit our shooting club and the useless canadian shooting org we belonged to which put even more money toward the new truck.

The money realized basically paid for 2/3 of a brand new 4x4 pick-up.

We kept a 30-30, a 308, a 30-06, 300 wm. 4 of the most useful hunting rounds.

No it's about ballistics and all around versitillity..7mm mag wins. Hands down. .270 had its day 50 years ago..Just saying way better modern caliber s out there..even the .270 wsm beats a .270

Time to put down grandpa's old Win and try something new

Yup, the new super duper ultra mags kill em deader than the old turdy-turdy did from a 94.
I'd better check the venison chops in the freezer that were killed with 'Granpa's old Win' last fall in case they get up and walk away.
Not sure that deer was dead enough when we quartered it in the bush.
