what weight savings will you guys be getting from the OW and MI rails?

The factory rail without hardware is like 16-17 oz from my scale and is a 14" rail, not sure on the mass of the stock receiver extension and nut but they look heavy, probably 4-5 oz. If the manufacturers' numbers are correct, the Odinworks 15.5" is 12.6 oz with hardware and the Midwest 15" is 13.5 oz with hardware. So they will drop 8 or 10 oz off... basically a half pound which is huge.

I ordered an ultralight SLR rail at 10.6 oz with hardware, I'm going to drop a little more, about 10 or 12 oz. off the front end.

Im now starting to look at a Trijicon 1-8 for this thing. I think it will be the perfect fit.

I was thinking the same thing, but I am used to more magnification when shooting longer ranges. I don't have as much experience as some of you. Is 8x enough? What would be an ideal range of magnification to take full advantage of this rifle?

Yup thats the one. :) I wanted to go with the vortex Strike Eagle 1-8 but I remembered about the 3 RMA's I had with them on prior products so I cant let myself go that route...

Depends on what you plan to do with it. I have High powered scopes already and I only plan to run and gun and do some hunting with it so 1-8 is perfect. ;)

With quality glass like that you should be fine as long as the reticle isnt to thick which I doubt. Should be easily good till 600m.

If you can afford it man do it! I have been eyeing up the primary arms 1-8 with accs reticle , but it's much more affordable for me personally.

I just picked up a Vortex 1 - 8 for mine when it comes, hopefully by the end of the month. What problems did you have with your other Vortex's? I have had a couple of red dots crap the bed, but all my other ones have been great.

I got 2 optics. A primary Arms 1-6 with ACCS Reticle, and a Vortex 3-12X40 with quick detach offset bases so can swap scopes depending on if I want to hunt or plink or shoot tight groups (if I am able to shoot those lol ;) )
