Whoah. Why does every T81 thread derail.

People, stop spreading false info.

I currently have the Type 81 sample that was sent to the RCMP for review. The final product will be more refined.

However, if this sample was the final product I would be happy. I don't see or feel any sharp edges.
Eveything feels nice and tight and smoothe. No hang ups, reliable and easy to maintain.

They should be landing any day. Let's wait until they arrive and let's keep our fingers crossed they turn out amazing.

By the way, these are being manufactured by the State Arsenal/Factory 296.

Calm yourselves people.

Finally, an adult in the kids room.

Only red rifle that won't last you're lifetime is a vz58 due to the action chewing into the reciever and the hollow weak striker. Sks, type 81, and valmets should burn out the barrel long before the action is worn

this. vz58/wr762 and variants are done, if you want the least quality, go for it. now it is a battle between the t81 and m10x.

Some reviews (military spec T81) state that the receiver was designed thicker than their type 56 (AK not SKS) to give a longer service life, was also designed to be more accurate (on full auto) as well. Let's hope we can get our mitts on ours soon so we can start to put all the speculation to rest.

Isn't that the same as Factory 26, which is located in ChongQing? I have a SKS made by factory 26. I did some research it seems that it was renamed to 296 somewhere in the 90s.

Also how did you find out where they were made?

Probably won’t have factory markings like a military contract, I mean maybe since they were piggy backed but I kinda doubt it. Would be super cool tho. Does the prototype have any factory markings ?

I found out where they were made because I asked TI, who gave me their sample for media release.

Yes, it's factory /26\, now factory 296. However, they are not going to be marked with their factory logo. Don't want to risk anything.

I'm curious, is there a triangle code on the gun?
