I purchased a stock from tradex listed as an m98 military stock. It is not as it doesn't accept any m98 hardware or even fit a k98 properly as I think it's been sporterozed or modified . The cleaning rod. Bayonet and bolt scallop are all about 3/4ths of an inch too short for a k98.It also has a stock repair that fell off as soon as i touched it Tradex has been unreasonable and rude considering they sent me some random stock that's falling apart and will not offer a full refund shipping included and sending it back at this point means it's 40 dollars out of my pocket because tradex sent some random stock. So can anyone tell me what its actually for. https://www.instagram.com/p/BaKfSsvgoSq/

Thanks !

Edit it's now positive to be a sportsterized stock sold as military. Stock has left over marks from the original setup.

Edit had a hiccup and had to change this thread.

Warning about Tradex

I Recently purchased a stock ( you may have seen the original post where i was trying to figure out what it was actually for) When i received the stock it had a large repair that had de-laminated and was falling out. didn't look like a military job, i how ever had some sporter k98 wood that i was going to use as a patch rather than dealing with the return. when i finally had all the hardware i assembled this 1940 337 code k98 into what was sold as a military m98 stock (with a photo of a K98 stock) the stock did not fit. the scallop for the bolt knob is about a half inch too far back for a 98. when this rifle sits in a stock from a 41 k98 it fits perfect. the wood at the front was also sawed off and set back about 1/2 inch and (this can be seen by the cleaning rod nut being moved back and the original hole from k98 configuration)under the bayonet lug diagonally cut and set back making this a bubba modified stock and not "military" from what myself and friends would call it. at this point i contacted tradex only to received what was bar non the worst customer service i have ever gotten. i simply asked for them to pay shipping where the stock was clearly damaged when they sent it and now knowing it does not fit a k98 he was even more rude. going so far as to tell me even if i did return it and it was for another type of yugo mauser that he MIGHT refund me. and honestly sending it back would leave me paying 40 dollars shipping for absolutely nothing. its not an isolated incident either. both here and on my other pages 6 other people messaged me with similar storys. items sent to them that were damaged or broken but listed as good condition only to be met with rude service and a nest of excuses. to the point they basically call you a liar. so heads up.

Had the same experience with this company.
The Swedish Mauser stocks I bought from them were advertised as very good, but the were damaged with pieces missing and in poor to fair condition at best.
Buyer beware, they are a sponsor not to serve you but to fill their pockets.

The tradex fanboys will chime in soon to praise such great business practices.

You must provide a better picture if you expect any help identifying your stock.

It also had a small triangle with something in the middle right on the pistol grip behind the trigger. Forgot to show that

Looks like a Yugo M98 "modified"(bubbad) Mauser stock.
Definitely a piece of sh*t.
No surprise from my side.

So it would be fair to say this listed as a m98 military stock would be false advertising since it's been shortened and there for not military.

Yeah they aren't having any of it. They don't even want to talk about it even after seeing the photos all they said was an m98 action fits in it. But the whole stock has been modified for another rifle and no longer accepts m98 furniture. I'm not an unreasonable person but this wasn't something I can control. But they are just dismissing me. Oddly I've heard of similar treatment from 6 others now.

Soon this thread will be moved by the moderators to the tradex site, where it will be deleted by the tradex guys, as they did so often in the past.

There's 5500 people on my Instagram right now looking at the stock with a warning not to buy from tradex they can't do much about

It does seem a little worse for wear. Was it advertised as a K98 stock?
Lots of different M98's, heck from 1 K98 to another they can be different enough to not fit.
Tradex has been good to me; but it's initial price hopefully reflected it's less than stellar condition.
I've found buying a replacement stock for a K98 can be...trying?
Got hugely burned by Marstar on milsurp parts, might have been a disgruntled minion who slipped it through Quality Control at Tradex as well?

Naw. This stock has been cut at the lug and set back. The cleaning rod was moved back as well and the stock cut to allow the band to slide back. By about 3/4 of an inch. Even the scallop for the bolt handle is nearly half an inch off. It had a stock repair that when touched crumbled and fell off as it looked like someone had been slashing the stock with a knife. At 99 dollars with no hardware at all and being advertised as military when it's a sporterozed k98 stock. Not a case of an illfitting stock

the stock you purchased is a m98 Yugo stock. not the same as German k98 stock . it sucks that it won't fit your rifle properly , sell it on the EE.

Or Tenda should step up and offer a complete refund.

Thank you for the heads up and I will take my business elsewhere, I don't deal with business that don't stand behind the products they sell.

I took the bayonet lug off. It's cut off crooked and the original hole for k98 configuration is still there. It's a sporter stock.
