M+M "features" wtf?

+1 but it'd still pain me to know any of my money ended up in this company's pocket after their lies and actions.

It's not personal, and shouldn't be. It's a business decision. I'll happily give them my money, but they need to lower their price first.

See this is one thing I've never understood. Business is just a label, why is it used as an excuse for behavior, that is otherwise not acceptable in a moral or even equitable decision making society?

Not to make it philosophical, or to get nitpicky on terms, but in the very basic sense.

I hope the barrel and components are actually not DMR, because the DMR ACR is just a heavy tank that shoots worse than my light profile conversions

If they had not publicly announced that they worked with Wanstalls to secure the preorder prices then turned around stabbed Wanstalls and the preorder holders in the back I may have given this a chance. How can you gladly hand over your money to a company that has obviously price fixed their product and openly lied to their potential customer base.

If you're happy to burn money wherever and plan on getting this rifle pm me as I have 5 brand new bho ak mags that I'll let go for 138% of what I paid.

it's all good boy, the real world is hard to navigate, sometimes for old folks like you it's way easier to just live in denial.
If you read the ti thread in reference to the t81 lmg, they even stated in the last few days "if china does a large order we will have an order placed for some" ie we can't afford an order on our own because we are too small.

lol.........

Sorry Jon for my post above, it wasn't meant to attack you in any way. I try to keep civil on here but this whole situation has gotten to me.

Oh no worries. Just saying I want the product, just not at 2000$ and not the way it's turned out. If they come to their senses I'll happily move on and buy one. I'm not jumping on you. Sorry if it appeared that way.

LOL, it took them two weeks to come up with this bs. basically the same rifle as before with a 30% price hike. mm and ns have no shame.

No iron sights, non chromed barrel in order to further increase profit margin. No way we can run corrosive thru this junk.

I bet it comes with a state of arts dmr tactical plastic bag to protect it from rough transportation environment. we need to figure out what dmr stands for.

Lol do you even know what nitriding is?

They can call it whatever they want, but IRG can get the US version for around $1000 US each, slap on a cheap 18.5" criterion barrel that wholesales for what? $75 for a decent blank? Criterion already pumps these out for AK builders for dirty cheap. Another $75 in bulk smithing fees, and they can get a rifle to us for the original US MSRP of around $1250 if they so choose.

If IRG comes through, NS's competition will sell rifles for $1000 less then they are offering. That would rock in so many ways it would not even be funny.

The ONLY way I would ever buy an M&M product after this mess, is if doing so destroyed their unethical business model.

My only problem with that plan is that we don't know what these use for a barrel extension so you may not be able to just turn out a non restricted barrel for it.
Also, even if a person uses IRG to bring it in you're still supporting M+M, they will still make money off of the sale in the US. To me, I'll just pass on this platform completely, it's the only way to actually hurt M+M even if it's just a tiny little poke in the arm they still lose a sale.
There are plenty of other x39 options out there and due to what I've seen from M+M I will choose to support another manufacturer.

You made a good practical point on the barrel extension, that could ruin someones day.

Yep, and it's inferior to hard chrome for corrosion and longevity.
It's much better then blued carbon steel of course, but with corrosive ammo chrome plating is as good as it gets.

So while we don't know which type of Nitriding they will be using it sounds like AR180shooter is the only one other than me (and maybe some other quiet people) who understands that Nitriding is superior to chrome lining in pretty much every way. For those of you who are unfamiliar and still think chrome is the best here is a little reading that may help change your mind.

When you get to the second last point under characteristics you may want to rethink your stand on chrome lining in a corrosive environment.

I am in no way supporting M+M but their choice of surface treatments is tip of the spear :p

I've seen good and bad nitrides, if it's a good one, I'll take it any day of the week. Not all chrome jobs are equal either.

Faxon says chrome is better for high heat/high rate of fire, I dunno, it's been around long enough the worlds militaries would have adopted it if it was better then chrone lining, it's cheaper for sure.
IMO anyway I'd take chrome over nitride for anything hard use or seeing corrosive ammo.

Not quite what they said...

OK, so what does Faxon recommend chrome-lining for?

For almost all shooters, Nitride is ideal. Chrome is appropriate for heavy military usage where the shooter would be firing full-auto cyclically under extreme duty cycles.

Also... one of the other M10x threads was just killed by mods... because one user used a multiple account. I have seen multiple threads on one topic merged to one before, that would be more helpful to this topic than closures. I realize MOST on CGN aren't interested in this storey at all anymore... but some are, the rest can bypass the thread.
