How is Hermes still employed here? I’ve dealt several times with this guy, and his behaviour never changes. I’ve mostly avoided shopping at Reliable after a terrible experience I had while buying ammo. He’d been quite rude prior to that trip as well, but I’m a forgiving person and try to remember that retail can be a difficult job. He approached me after I had waited my turn at the counter, so I smiled and said “Hi, how are you?”. He stared at me for an uncomfortably long pause of 2-3 seconds, then simply asked “What would you like?”. I asked for the ammo I came in for, then paid for it and left. He said almost nothing during the transaction, and made me feel quite uncomfortable. I’m a business owner too, so I know how harmful a bad employee can be. I called and spoke with the manager, who was very friendly and seemed to take it seriously. Several months passed, then I went in to ask about a Glock 17 today, which was advertised as going on sale a few weeks later. It was going to be my first pistol, as I’ve had my PAL for years but just recently submitted my paperwork for an RPAL. I wanted to see the Glock and ask if I could pay for it on the sale day, then have them hold it until my RPAL arrives. Again it was Hermes that approached me, and again I smiled and asked “Hi, how are you?”. This time, he simply replied “Yes?”. Unbelievable. I drove a 40 minute round-trip to see the Glock, so I went ahead and asked him my questions. He refused to let me handle the pistol, even though there’s no law against doing so. He explained that it’s the store’s policy, not his. Fair enough, but what’s this guy’s problem? He was cold as ice throughout the entire interaction. I was also planning to pick up some ammo, but decided against it. The pistol will be $699 on the day of the sale, but I’ll be buying it from Wanstall’s for $809 instead, along with the 350 rounds I need for my IPSC course. The people at Wanstall’s are friendly, professional, and happy to show restricted firearms to PAL holders. If Mission is too far for you, the folks at International Shooting Supplies in Surrey are just as friendly. I tried working constructively with Reliable, but if they insist on retaining staff that treat customers like liabilities, I'll happily take my money where it's appreciated!

So this guy is denied to hold a pistol because he doesn't have a valid RPAL and goes on a tirade on Google. Would be something I'd expect from a fat liberal arts student with tears splashing against her problem glasses, but a dude with both of his balls still intact.

Lol, these snowflakes are so easily triggered, hahahahahaha!!!

"Cold as ice"
Yeah.. how would he know you dont have a loaded mag in your pocket in place of where your pal should be.
What a dink

What u guys talking about you think having a magic rpal stops you from doing something illegal with a pistol given to you at a gun store? I've been in gun stores before where you have to kiss the counter guys ass to get respect or service not into that one bit. I can see where this guys coming from. I can't say however anything about reliable as I never dealt there.

Looks like this guy doesn't like another shop in Vancouver that's not Reliable......maybe it's not the shop or employees.....but HIM.

Lucas Dimenna 1 This is quite simply the rudest, most unpleasant shopping experience one can have. I'm a very polite and clean-cut guy, and I've been treated by multiple staff members as though I have prison tattoos covering my face. The worst offender by far is the Asian skinhead that looks like he's never smiled in his life, staring menacingly at me whenever I've visited the store. I've gotten some good deals during their annual sales, but I won't ever go back. I'd rather spend a little more and be treated with courtesy and respect. What's also interesting is that despite having a very poor reputation among Lower Mainland gun owners, they have a very high Google rating. A critical eye will spot many similarly-worded five-star "reviews" by "customers" that have not reviewed any other businesses - obviously fraudulent posts written by store management. Hilariously, their website implies that they are the biggest gun store in the province, stating that they "have BC's largest selection of hunting and shooting equipment", when in fact it's actually one of BC's smallest gun stores. You guys have a "larger selection" than Cabela's? Terrible staff, fake reviews and false advertising.....

"Tirade" not "tyrade"
I want to get in on the complaining.
I am very sensitive to spelling mistakes
#triggered
#why do the snowflakes get "triggered"... it should be our word, not theirs

*EDIT*
*Triggered should be a "gun" word not a unicorn-gendered defence for lack of character*

Asian skinhead ............... lol , this guy is a gem.

I’ve dealt with reliable twice , once as a phone order , all good to me.

never bought from Reliable but they have always returned emails and have a great online store I always browse even when I'm broke, great prices . cheers!

Sounds like the same guy that was extremely rude when I tried to take a look at the lefty desert tech (lying saying it was sold), and the p30 that I was ready to buy but walked.

Pawn Shop Clerk: You can't do that.

The Terminator: [shoots the clerk] Wrong!

I've bought three guns from Reliable. No problem in dealing them with getting a Glock 17 and a Ruger Precision. The biggest issue I had was when I went to get a Savage Mark II TR. The store was packed and I had to wait a bit getting help at the counter. Damn Reliable, they had to put a big sale on the same day I wanted to buy a .22LR and get some ammo. The place was a freaking zoo! Well to add insult to injury after the clerk gets the rifle from the basement, he finds an error. Apparently they didn't have the Mark II TR as listed on the website, but they did have a Mark II BSEV. (For the gun geeks: The TR has a blued heavy barrel and a traditional stock. The BSEV has a stainless, fluted heavy barrel with a target rifle stock.) Then the clerk further aggravated me by announcing that he would tack on another discount onto the already discounted price. The insolence. I'm getting so worked up recounting this, that I'm going to go stand outside their shop on the 2nd and give them a piece of my mind.

Mike

I went to Cabela's at their grand opening. I waited in line and asked to see a Ruger Precision. The clerk said he had one in the back, but he wasn't going to get it for me. Kinda hard to sell a rifle from the back room, don't you think? Bass Pro is just as bad. I decided to check out their reloading equipment. They have a bullet comparator tool (read: depth gauge for rifle chambers) But this tool requires specially modified brass casings to work. Bass Pro doesn't have any brass on the shelf. I ask at the counter. The clerk has no idea what to look for, no idea how to use the computer to find anything and didn't bother asking any other clerk for help. Just looks at me and says "Sorry I can't help you" (It turns out that the Bass Pro website doesn't even stock the modified brass for .308WIN) I'm disappointed that Wholesale Sports lost out to these two buffoon shops.

At the risk of sounding like a triggered snowflake.
What do you have against overweight people with glasses?
Your comments would be considered inappropriate by many people who are heavier, and or with worse eyes than you.
Enjoy your bullying! I am nobody special, but I have had enough unprovoked attacks from your kind in my life. May be this kind of behavior is tolerated at Canadian Gunnutz. Well it is not with me. Welcome to my very short ignore list of 1.

I have been to Reliable numerous times and have always been treated well by all the staff. They are gunutz themselves and enjoy what they do. As anyone that has worked in customer service knows there is a small percentage of people that will always complain no matter what.

I'm surprised it took 4 posts for someone to offer a little perspective. Well done sir

Who said anything about bullying? heavier people are called FAT as that is what they are 90% of the time. I myself am.... FAT. I do however have impeccable vision. Mister Donut is simply exercising his right to free speech and making a presumption of the kind of person who would complain in a similar fashion as the individual in question. His comments were/are his own and were not directed at anyone specific. If you are offended then you CHOSE TO BE OFFENDED which means you can CHOOSE to let it go as well.

If Mister Donut and his opinion are of no concern to you then why are you butt hurt about them in the first place? I'm not saying his comments were "sensitive" and I'm not saying that some may find them offensive(as you clearly have). All I'm saying is that his opinions and comments are his to have and share. It is everyone else who has the RIGHT to ignore him or respond in kind.

The "snowflake" mentality is that of people getting all in a knot over the opinions/comments of complete strangers and usually about the most trivial of topics. That very reaction is what warrants their labeling as a "snowflake". Life must be a real miserable experience for people who simply can't function without every comment being "sensitive" to THEIR feelings/beliefs. The reality these "snowflakes" are living is that they are offended by everything anyone or everyone says all the time. What makes that sweet is that they CHOSE TO BE OFFENDED which means their misery is their own fabrication....

Itt: People defending bad customer service. Dude got treated poorly and made a review based on it. When I say "hello" Id expect a "hello" back not a "what do you want". If someone came in to buy a cell phone from me and I said "yes?" you can bet I wouldn't work there long. I have nothing against reliable but the amount of people jumping on this guy for sharing his multiple bad experiences is amazing.
