Dumbass rant on Google, who is this idiot?

I totally get were this guy is coming from.

I love reliable, great prices, good line of products, close to work and some helpful staff, but I have actually went to look at stuff on the shelf if this guy was the next free sales person because of his demeanor. I have noticed that he is super friendly with some people but with others its more of a what the F do you want.

No fault to reliable as he probably has other skills that compensate for this, I have noticed he is one of the few people at reliable that speaks a foreign language and maybe his shooting hobbies fills a gap in knowledge that is needed in the store.

It is also something not uncommon in stores that represent the shooting hobby in Canada from my experience. I have lived in several countries and when we came to Canada with my wife she was amazed at the customer service at stores and how friendly people were, I have to agree with her. When I started to get into the shooting hobby again about 8 yrs ago it was interesting visiting the gun stores and I actually mentioned it to my wife, that it was like visiting a store from another country were attitudes are a bit different.

I have just come to the conclusion that most of the people who work in these stores do so because of there interest in firearms and not their ability to engage with the public. The good thing is that I have found enough good people at the various stores to meet my needs, if its more than an ammo pick up, I usually call ahead to see if a certain staff member is working and when I get to the store just say I was talking to so and so about a product and wait for them to be free.

Also to be fair to reliable this is something I have found in any gun store I have visited in Canada and I have found reliable has a high ratio of good staff compared to others and they will continue to get my business

Gotta love CGN for the sheer entertainment value -- where else do you get a fat guy announcing he's ignoring Mr. Donut.....?

As for the OP, maybe the issue is with "Hi, How are you?"

"My cholesterol is high, my back hurts, I'm overworked, underpaid, and my wife's car needs a new transmission."

Do you really want to know how he is? Or are you replacing the straightforward and simple "hi" with an unnecessary and banal question that demands a tired response? When busy people need to get down to business, "hi" immediately followed by a concise question or request is much better than the pointless waste of time started by the "how are you" exchange. Ice-men won't indulge you.

I'm not a snow flake and maybe I don't know the whole story but it is a business. They should be friendly and want to make a sale. I don't support the local gunshop in my northern Ontario town because they are rude as hell and make you seem like a burden when you come in. Fine I'll take my business elsewhere. The other gun store here let's anyone at anytime handle any gun they want. That's called being welcoming, wanting people to join the firearms community and being a good business man. Nothing to do with "millennials" or "snowflakes". Now as far as reliable I have never had a bad experience with them so can't say anything there but I've never been there in person obviously.

smile back and pretend to be polite. Rule #1 in retail which he obviously failed if this guy noticed enough to write a paragraph about it, even if it is fairy. why not let him hold his pistol? because he wont have his rpal for a couple weeks? hard to tell who's more lame

When someone starts off a conversation with me with, "hi, how are you" my first thoughts go to, I'm not interested in what your selling, I don't want your awake magazine, ( yes, let's get religion into this ). If I stood behind a counter for 8 hrs. answering what I'm sure we 100 dumb questions a day, if someone came in 1/2 way through my day and started with that, I would just stare for a bit too, thinking, should I tell him I want a coffee, I have to take ####, or tocos for dinner.
I've never had a problem with reli

Dam, hit post instead of the auto correct word. Like I was saying, never had a problem, but I think a lot of people go into gun stores expecting perky little star bucks service, not, want do you want.

So this guy is denied to hold a pistol because he doesn't have a valid RPAL and goes on a tirade on Google.

Maybe this is the reviewer on Google... and Hermes just couldn't smile because he was too busy reading?

Not every salesperson can be Mr. Rogers cheery every minute, and not every customer-salesperson get along. I generally ignore most reviews like this and just see for myself.

Let me just say this, having worked in customer service for over a decade... sometimes those reviews online are complete and total lies, sometimes they are true... impossible to tell.

I pretty much ignore the odd bad review, UNLESS they have multiple bad reviews back to back or in unusually high numbers, otherwise it doesn't prove much one way or the other. I go in for myself and if it is that horrible I just don't go there again, I don't bother writing reviews unless it's really, really bad... last bad review I wrote was 5-6 years ago when a small hotel triple charged my CC and was refusing to refund me.

Not letting a person handle a pistol bc they don't have their rpal? Or not being a super happy smiling retail sales person? Stuff like that hardly warrants a bad review. So yeah, I would look at that review and typically ignore it.

Some of you people here have piss poor souls.

You point out the twig in other people's eyes while ignoring the beam in your own.

If you hate Liberals or conservatives you're also just brainwashed. They're two sides of the same coin, as anyone with half an education outside the school system would know in today's world.

Love your neighbor. Don't call them fat. Don't make fun of them where they cannot defend themselves.

Just curious, how would you call a person if they are “fat”?
Since when is calling someone fat an offence and considered as making fun of them?

how you all know what he experienced going in there? just because the iceman hermes is nice to everyone, doesn't mean he isn't a prick to this reviewer... maybe the reviewer wore tight pants and had a manbun that set off hermes? or maybe he had pants half down his butt and a gold grill and flava flav clock that hermes hates? everyone is free to voice their opinion no matter how goofy or stupid it sounds to anyone. he clearly hated his experience so has his right to voice his opinion, to make a thread about it is hilarious. I should make a thread about you making a thread about it and call it "dumbass rant on canadiangunnutz, who is this idiot?".

His hair looks too short for a manbun

Pretty sure he's the one on the right.

Iv never had a problem with anyone at reliable Iv bought pretty much every single gun I own from them. And the people who I deal with there are hands down the best they treat me like family.

Dunno...Pleasantly Plump maybe. .... suggest to Reliable to play some spa channel music or colouring books for waiting customers. Ya know just keep it all mellow... hmmmmmm

Reliable is the best shop in town. Hermes from all my dealing is friendly and very knowledgeable and helpful. In fact I would say 90% of my purchases are though him and he is my go to guy. Every time I send a buddy down to Reliable I ask them to look for Hermes and all my buddies dealings have been positive as well. Only negative thing I have to say about this Hermes character is he is not good for your wallet! :)

If you read the context of how the word fat was used, you should be able to hear the hostility behind the word.

Wanstall's isn't even in Mission! lmfao

edit - calling someone fat is totally offensive. If you weren't trying to be a #### about it, you'd use terms like overweight, large, ect. not fat.
