Fat

adjective
1. (of a person or animal) having a large amount of excess flesh.

direct words are offensive because it pushes the issue to the forefront of consciousness. where it must be dealt with. its considerded kind for you to alter your speech to pad their ego from having to deal with the reality that their calories in v.s calories burned ratio is out of whack and is their responsibility to bring into check.

Posting a link to someones family photos is something one might expect from teenagers on facebook trying to shame someone. Tottally inappropriate and rather childish.
I think the mods or Reliable should close this one down

The best part is the fact that the person who originally posted it removed it, but you can still see it because someone quoted it to give the original poster crap about posting it. Oh the irony.

No, the best and most ironic part of this thread is the OP says he removed the pic bc of "too many hurt feelings" ... when in fact it appears the OP had hurt feelings due to the fact that the google reviewer had hurt feelings.

Whoever said this is something some high school girls would do is right... sigh... ok time to ignore this thread and get back to brewing beer and watching football.

The reviewer? It's like being held responsible for your statements. Heresy!!!

The problem is that the internet is not always a trustworthy register of accurate facts: the picture might not be them, they might not have said what they're accused of saying, etc. Also there are some people on the internet who are not as sensible as you or me, and they might go beyond holding them responsible for a review and harass or threaten them. This is why posting someone's personal information is not a great idea unless they volunteer it.

That said, Reliable is a great store with service as good as anywhere - the review deserves ridicule.

Wanstall's isn't even in Mission! lmfao

edit - calling someone fat is totally offensive. If you weren't trying to be a #### about it, you'd use terms like overweight, large, ect. not fat.

I'm fat, there's no denying it, but I have little sympathy for people who are fat like me and cry to the gods when people make fun of us for being a fat.

Nobody put a gun to my head to eat that last jelly donut and not exercise after. I look the way I do because I'm a lazy fuk and can't resist the delicious temptation of a tasty donut.

But that's all getting a bit off topic. Both the Iceman and the reviewer look like they could wear skinny jeans.

Remember when a post could be made on CGN
without it becoming a fight over nitpicking words?

PEPPERIDGE FARMS REMEMBERS

... and so do I.

Sorry for the derail, but I think that happened some time ago.

I went there once. Had what I wanted. Paid and left. I don't need attention and kind smiles to get through a simple shopping experience.

This is comedy gold. Only in cyberspace can someone post someone else's rant, get blamed for the rant, then hurt a "calorically challenged" person's feelings and then have that same person on a GUN FORUM state that there is no difference between a liberal or conservative.

Keep em coming boys!

Maybe this is the reviewer on Google... and Hermes just couldn't smile because he was too busy reading?

Not every salesperson can be Mr. Rogers cheery every minute, and not every customer-salesperson get along. I generally ignore most reviews like this and just see for myself.

This was the best post yet, i laughed my ass off.

He has never had a pistol and is going to use his first 350 rounds to take the IPSC Black Badge course?
Good luck.

Yah, good point. 350 rounds, a stock Glock as his first pistol, and jumping straight into a BB course: I don't see that going too well for him Mr. Dimena.

As for Hermes, I've interacted with him quite a few times at Reliable and he's always been solid. With some of those interactions, I could tell he was busy and things moved along at a rapid, staccato pace which was fine with me and not out of place for a busy shop. Other times, we had time to chat and brain-storm on my purchase options with him offering some much appreciated advice. As a customer, I take comfort in knowing the guys I'm talking to aren't just smarmy salesmen but are instead true gun-nutz with product knowledge that comes from hands on experience(I saw Hermes at a BCRA PR match earlier this year).

Anyway, I don't know Mr. Dimena so I can't comment authoritatively on his disposition. But, I can say that in all my dealings with Hermes he's been solid and I have seen no pattern of negative attitude. Hermes does come across to me as a serious, focused guy but I'd call that one of his strengths and one of the things I appreciate about him: I suspect that Mr. Dimena is overly sensitive.

OK, fair enough. He had a subpar experience. I don't know Hermes but have dealt with him before. Not a chatty fellow. But he's never been rude. It is a gun store though, so quite frankly I don't expect them to act like greeters at Walmart. Having said that, I have gotten excellent service from these guys and really excellent deals. Ive certainly had lots of interesting chats with many of the guys there over the years.

Here's the thing, Reliable has been part of the community for a really long time. It's a family biz. They generously support the shooting sports. They very generously sponsor matches at my range (and others). I participate in DSS matches and they've helped me out by giving me ridiculous deals on products so I can donate prizes in my firm's name (which they absolutely didn't have to do).

No one's perfect, but overall they are a great asset to our community. I would hate to see this detract from that.

Upped for truth!!!!

Reliable is IMO one of the best stores in this industry in Western Canada and likely all of the country. Most if not all purchases are discretionary buys as these are all toys of which I really do not NEED but want. Just a hobby.

They are not a non profit and perhaps their prices may not be the lowest but they will consider matching other sellers. It really is up the sales clerk to sell and market their goods. I really like the owners as they are genuinely interested in promoting the sports. As such, I would give them my business if all things being equal
