This thread is pure entertainment. I can't believe I only happened on to it only a day ago. Regardless I feel sorry for TI or any other company trying to procure a new firearm for distribution in Canada. Why even bother with such ungrateful whiney customers. Anyone who actually ordered one of these rifles and actually expected a rifle to be manufactured in China and successfully imported to Canada and distributed here within expected timelines down to the day has or had their heads shoved up their collective asses. Hell we can't even get American made firearms across the border in a timely fashion. We can' even get timelines held to from our own Canadian manufactures. TI is and was held to the mercy of the Chinese manufactures and Canada's and China's insufferable import and export laws. Procurement of these types should reasonably be measured in years. To expect otherwise is naive.

As for the short shipping of mag issues. TI is not the only importer who has ever been short shipped. Sheit happens. All they can do is order more mags and sit and wait. The same thing any other importer would do. As for their response for the short shipment, the curtailing of the last group of orders, well it sucks for them but it seems relatively fair.

I have no horse in this race. Nor do I even own a single TI product. However I question why anyone or any importer would go through the trouble of doing a transaction of this type when the CGN members is willing to turn on them in a second because their precious rifle took a day or a week or a few weeks longer to get to its new owner when these types of deals time spans are measured in years and months.

Thanks TI for bringing in a new product into Canada despite the fact I chose not to purchase it. Hopefully the select group on here doesn't sway your future decisions on trying something of this type in the future.

Sorry to hear about the abusive calls and e mails TI, people need to get a clue and grow up. Your employees don't deserve that crap.
Some of us do appreciate what you are doing so keep up the good work and ignore the whiners and idiots

Folders started getting scanned in yesterday, we started updating folding stock tracking #'s yesterday as well. FYI the tracking update might have gone to junkmail as we are getting many reports of this. There will be more updates today and moving forward as we are into processing the folding stock orders.

The TI trolling and incessant bashing needs to stop, last warning or the thread will be locked. Also, please be nice people, our employees are getting a lot of abusive emails and phone calls, it is not acceptable. We understand many are excited for the Type 81, but this is the largest preorder in Canadian firearms history, it's simply not something that can be sent out in a week while still maintaining daily operations and communication standards. We are always available for questions via email and phone, with email replies in 1-2 business days and voicemails returned in 1 business day. If your order has not shipped it is still available for full, no questions asked refund to your method of payment.
Well... we should see some emails very soon then! And would think some will have folders this week!

Thank you for finally responding to concerns. It is not "ti bashing" when you short ppl on mags and then vanish, promise shipping updates that don't materialize, and take almost 3 weeks to ship orders in apparent last in, first out fashion.

What you are seeing is your customers feeling you aren't valuing their business. It should have you thinking about improving your customer service practices, not whining that people are bashing you.

Ps: staff mistreatment isn't acceptable. I can't speak for others, but the one call I made was curteous, short and centered around adding stuff to my order.

I worked in a call center once, it was a thankless job.

I hope for TI's sake that the majority or people who bought a folding stock version also bought a fixed stock version aswell.
Which could explain the delay in them boxing both up together with the correct amount of mags and accessories for both (or even more rifles).
Again I am hoping!!!!

I bought both but didn't order the fixed until a few weeks ago. I was hoping they would be shipped together but they sent me the fixed one a couple days ago. I never ordered any xtras with it, just the rifle. That may be why they just sent it out quick. I am sure we will all get our long awaited folders soon enough

Exactly.
Maybe more whiners will get their refunds and the incessant whining will stop.

I got my bayonet yesterday and the strap appears to be vinyl lol.
However, the star on the button is of the utmost quality! No display case with mine.
Maybe I bought from the wrong vendor.

I would really like to refinish the wood furniture, if the butt stocks and the hand guard can be removed without too much challenge. The carving of the wood to match the shapes of the metal was some workmanship. If I can remove the wood, I will make them much nicer, by reshaping, and finishing with darker stain and tung oil.

Same, I was thinking bout a Russian red..

Thanks for the update TI and seriously? People are harassing your employee's. Wtf people.... go for a walk, watch a movie or something.

Not to turn this into a Canada Post bashing thread, but for 3 days they have said my rifle is in Calgary and it would be here on Tuesday. That is, until I went to Tim's today and they attempted delivery while I was out for 15 minutes.

Sigh... At least I know I can pick it up tomorrow. When did CP start delivering on Sundays?

They just do the weekend delivery thing this time of year for holidays to help with the increased volume as far as I know.
