Possible T81 New Issue

Pretty sure the WR762 uses some surplus parts.

So I should have been more specific. I was just commenting to the quoted statement - that Kodiak does more than supply receivers to Wolverine to assemble with their parts from the prohibs that got cut up.

And they do complete rifles. Wasn't commenting what they made them out of. They do complete rifles. In the Westrifle threads about the WR762, requests were made for receivers only, and those requests were denied.

I would say either Wolverine had more pull, and just got receivers - OR - bought complete WR762s and stripped the furniture to replace with the sets they had, to fill the order and salvage something from the rifles that went prohib.

Quite possibly the WR762 is a mix of new and surplus. I can't remember specifically, but I do believe that is the case. Still goes back to the idea that they do complete rifles.

I don't see the huge deal around bent rifles.

Return it for a replacement or a refund. If its a hassle, tell all your friends Tactical Import is shiet.

My work here is done.

Thats what people did when the preorder was announced. Then they got shouted down by all the "proud future owners" of the best guns in the world that noone ever used.

Got my 4 rifles, two folders and two fixed, 13 mags short one sling missing, no preorder bonus mags, all guns are straight and well put together just watch the sharp edges, shot one last night, shoots nice!!

Nice man glad they all are minty.....you put one of each of those away for safe keeping unfired and I guarantee you they will be collectors item.....no dealer with touch and type 81 order after all the problems that are going on.....you gotta straight rifle it will fetch some serious coin in years to come.......by the time this is all said and done and all the returns go thru.....there will be less than 400 fixed and 400 folders in canada

Here you go Eden

Mine is like that only not nearly as bad, only a tiny gap. My barrel is straight in line with my receiver but the gas cover/wood veers off to the right a bit. Plays tricks with the eyes making the barrel look bent when it isn't.

Gun runs fine. Are these worth $1000.00 imo? not even close. I'll keep mine and shoot the crap out of it but it's disappointing overall in the quality and fit dept.

When I heard they were "polytech's" I was excited and expecting decent quality. These guns are amateur hour it seems.

Funny, I got nothing but flack when I tried to warn people not to expect too much in the way of fit and finish from Norinco based on my previous experience with their Type 56 AKMs. I specifically predicted sharp internal edges and rust-Prone salt-bluing. So, was I wrong?

Didn't think so.....

It is not a question of right or wrong, it is all about (hurt) feelings

That's BS.. People have speculated that because we know the Chinese were charging $200 USD for T81's just before the 1994 ban on Chinese arms. That was now 23 years ago - think about it. Odds that a $200USD rifle 23 years ago is a $200 Canadian rifle today in our comparatively smaller order size? Doubtful in the extreme.

So you're saying both TI and the consumers have been ripped off?!?!?!

So you're saying both TI and the consumers have been ripped off?!?!?!

And you get that how?

I've said in other posts, I think they were $400-500 landed cost for TI. I paid $1000 knowing that and am fine with it, assuming my rifle won't be bent. We shall see.

What you say is correct ,Your right about them making up complete rifles the WR762, there is no surplus, that is a new Canadian 858 clone.

Wolverine is NOT being supplied receivers. The cut up 858s were turned into parts kits and anyone that wanted them turned into rifles could have send them back to Wolverine
which in turn were sent to Kodiak who are putting the surplus 858 parts on their new Kodiak receivers making them a hybrid and bit more of a F***ed up 858 history project.

Supposed to have my 81's Tuesday. Not expecting the full order since others are short hopefully not bent after this long if it even leans to one side it's going back.

Agreed, don't rely on visual.

When I used only my right eye, it bends more to the right.

I thought the last 300 were all put into Kodiak receivers by Kodiak defense, or at least the majority of them...as some wood sets were bought separately from the metal bits...so in a round about way, they were supplied receivers...those of us who bought them as parts kits were just lucky enough to get in on the action...they did mention that no more Czech surplus parts would be coming in...
