Marihuana at Hunting Camp.

I don’t buy that “one beer” rule, I know for a fact I would blow over after a beer (mind you I rarely drink)

Once pot is legalized, will smoking a joint with lunch be the same as having a beer with lunch? I would think so.

You can have a beer to quench your thirst at lunch. Smoking a joint has only one purpose, to get you high. Anyway you look at it, recreational pot is for losers, who can't handle life, on life's terms. IMO

I do hope you are kidding.
No one drinks beer to quench thirst. We drink beer because we like beer.

I've met far more loser drunks than loser stoners. Great we treat all equal, you can drink at lunch but no weed. Those rules must have been made by the "camp bosses"....

You could have a glass of water to quench your thirst. Why a beer? I'm thinking it has something to do with the alcohol content. Anyway you look at it, recreational beer is for losers, who can't handle life, on life's terms. IMO...

Hmmm... I've seen some people get so drunk ( loser drunk is the term ) that they lost control. Temper, bladder, bowels; heck life...lost control.
Never seen anyone do that with Mary-jane. Things must be different in Ont... stronger or something, eh?

I don’t understand why you feel the need to justify the camp rules to a few fellows here Brad? That’s what camp is like. Any I was invited into had rules be they written or not and they were accepted as is or just don’t participate. I never had issue with it and never met anyone who did? Most were happy to be part of the camp experience or be invited as a guest to one and if they did not feel the way it was set up was to their liking nobody got bent out of shape if they didn’t return.

I guess I don't understand the mentality and find it curious..... The prevailing attitude seems to be that they put up with enough rules in life and at work and they don't want o put up with rules in their free time... Yet here they are on a message board with pages and pages of rules posting away like there's no tomorrow?

I agree with you that handling of loaded firearms while under the influence is not generally a good idea and it is your camp so you get to make the rules and apparently others are completely willing to abide by your rules. That being said, your pictures of camp reminded me of church youth group I used to have to attend.
As for people who aren't capable of "self-governing", I used to be around a fair number of people who where unable to "self govern" when it came to alcohol. One of them left on a stretcher for the hospital with alcohol poisoning, something I doubt happened at your hunting camp.
I believe the biggest issue most have with 'rules' at hunt camp is you are dealing with adults, if you need rules to enjoy being with other people you know in the middle of nowhere then you probably shouldn't be with those people and if you feel like making a ton of arbitrary rules then you will likely be spending it with less people you know in the camp (some might consider that a good thing).

Haha.... that picture is my buddy and his son playing guitar.... likely a Johnny Cash song.... and I imagine that the toker in camp is outside with his altoids tin and tiny scissors.... Did you guys always have a forty of Smirnoff on the table at your youth group? That reminds me.. guy in the pic drinks vodka and coke (gross).... I best make a rule banning that :)

Do you ask the guys that have a beer at lunch the same question?

Spank wrote this: "Read my words...I said drunks and stoners. I did not say someone who has an occasional drink or toke. However if one can’t go a day without wanting or needing a buzz then they definitely have a problem."

And your response was: "Ok so I'm not a stoner as long as it's every other day, that's great news"

The definition of addiction means that you can't do without something... and that is a problem whether it's alcohol, weed, cocaine, meth, whatever.....

Again (for what feels like the 50th time), I don't have an issue with people smoking weed....
