Marihuana at Hunting Camp.

I won’t be careful..... I will be honest... the guy was and is a member of our camp.....

So why play dumb earlier on. OK so lets say your camp is ok with night hunting .

You also posted as to the possession and usage of controlled substances at your camp. And you brilliantly pointed out that this is illegal. But not one of your rules ?

Having to carry a case with you if you plan on being out in the woods past legal light. You can't even drive with the gun un cased in the truck so it dries out after an evening hunt in the rain

I use a rifle sock, it can be put in to a pocket, or used as a scarf if it's cold. A few of my friends will hump out their rifles in hard cases.... We are always out before legal shooting time, and walk out after last night.

if the "drinking offense" is processed under the criminal code you can go to court and dispute it. If it is an IRP in bc then you do not get a chance to go to court if you wish to dispute the prohibition. An IRP can be issued for more than just "drinking"

I can't get into the details, because it was 10 years ago... But i remember reading the back of his suspension notice (or whatever its called) from the cop, and it had instructions for disputing (or appealing maybe?) a drinking related suspension but not any other cause.

If it ever does get legalized (to our benefit, not just the greasy liberal insider's), then most guys should start a patch, and make their hunting property pay for itself, haha!

Hunting camp ends up being a week extra- 1 week to hunt, the other to clip...

Although, I'm not sure there's ever been a law put on the books, that actually HELPS anything.

We'll see..

4 plants per household, except in Quebec where you can't grow anything. So that wouldn't work. Not to mention selling it will be highly illegal.

You don’t know me..... you don’t hunt at my camp and you don’t know how we hunt and what is involved.....it’s likely very different from how we do things with dogs and deer drives....

Stop with your “let’s say” BS.....

FFS.

When? Your inability to comprehend simple statements doesn’t equate to the other party playing dumb.

No... he commented on how strict CO’s can be. Never condoned night hunting.

Have you read the other 700 posts? That’s sort of a theme throughout.

I’m slowly coming to the conclusion that you’re not really this thick... but just enjoy a little trolling after supper. Whatever floats your boat.

There was no IRP program in BC ten years ago, it was likely a criminal DUI then

It is impossible for me not to stay out past legal shooting time in BC, usually well over an hour in the woods on foot and always hunt right till last light, then head out

Exactly. I'd like to see the evidence on your night hunters conviction. ( Let's drop the poacher vernacular for now ). Just what was the wording on his Offence Notice ? And as a side note, I don't have a lot of pity for folks that plead guilty when they don't believe they are.

Did a lot of dog and deer drives in my time. We all knew when it got dark our guns needed to be encased.
All adults so it wasn't a problem.

Im pretty much the same. I might start heading back before last light, but I'm never to the truck until at least 15 or 20min after legal light, often quite a bit later than that even.

I know we have very reasonable hunting laws in BC, but I can't believe how silly some laws are back east...

Still a bunch of spouting and BS until you actually tell us where you live and hunt....

It’s not a stupid rule... I never said that.....

I didn't realize I was hiding a thing. Here in Alberta our ridiculous rule is no atvs before noon.

The fact you like the rule is baffling, yet predictable. It does make sense for an easterner to want rules to make sure he doesn't break rules. Explains our gun laws.

No atvs before noon? As a non ATV owner, I like it! Lol (opinion likely to change as I get older and get a real job. Lol)

No..... you have to have your firearm encased after legal light when hunting while afield....and if you don’t, there is potential that you can be charged as such, but not with poaching...

That is really the law? Straight out that is one of the stupidest things I have ever heard. I hunt till the end of legal light and I keep my gun loaded and ready to fire until I am back at my vehicle and I have the doors open, even if it's a 2 hour hike. Even then I don't unload it till I have all my gear off and in the vehicle. We have animals around here that actually hunt at night and could easily mistake me as prey. You don't have black bears and wolves out east? I'm not allowed to shoot anything after legal light unless it attacks me but I'm sure not going to be charged with a crime for carrying a loaded gun to protect myself after dark. As far as I know I can even legally discharge a gun after dark if I feel like it, as long as I do it safely and not at game animals. I'm sure glad I don't live out there. Nanny state for sure.
