Brownells Retro Rifles Part II

Not interested in these at all, after seeing they are just a lazy effort - no more than a DPMS AR10 with some new furniture and paint.

These will not appeal to the more savvy collectors.

Are you sure you know whereof you speak? I’d like to know where you have seen a DPMS with this style of charging handle?

The good news that they are propriety upper and lowers that aren't interchangeable with any other rifle on the market.

Well, you could attempt to build a 100% correct clone that you'd have to reverse engineer and manufacture 100% of the parts for but I'm not sure how many you'd sell at $5000 a piece.

This. Some people need to temper their overly ambitious expectations. Think of it as an affordable "homage" rather than a hyper-expensive direct copy...

13:45 in the second video he says they are a propriety upper and lower "not compatible with other items out there".

So correct me if I’m wrong... but is there a chance these could be NR? Proprietary upper and lower? With a 20 inch barrel?

It makes it no different than the NEA102 or ATR Modern Varmint. So fingers cross. What it comes down to is you can slap a upper on it from a firearm that has already been classified as restricted. Plus there is already a FTR entry for a original semi-auto AR-10 factory rifle that is non-restricted.

Has anyone tried a DPMS upper on the BCL102?
