So, Canada Post asked what I was shipping today!!!

Said it was a new policy. They have to question the contents.

She got a rather puzzled/alarmed look on her face when I told her it was a mold LOL.

Be dam'd if I going to tell them I'm shipping firearms. That's just begging to have it opened for inspection.

Anyone else encounter this yet?

When I shipped a firearm back to distributor the Alberta CFO specifically told me NOT to tell Canada Post what I was shipping.

yes when they ask I ALWAYS say auto parts.

Ha! My postal outlet is great (no trouble to tell I'm rural!)

Employee hands me a box marked fragile..."something rattling around in there, sounds broken"

Me: "I don't think its anything that finicky, but there's other things in there too...sure it's ok"

Employee: "You should open it to see so we can make a claim if anything broken"

Me: "Um, ok" Opens box, sees Glock case with no lock, opens to see Glock 19 with no trigger lock. Sees that offending rattling bits are sling attachment points from Magpul hitting spare magazines in bottom of box. "Looks good here!"

Employee: "Nice Glock" Smiles and goes about her business, as she's rural too and has handled lots of firearms during her time as a Canadian Ranger.

And Toronto is supposed to be the cradle of all things civilized? I call bulls*t.

Or "accidently" go missing...

Or "accidently" go missing...

Unless there is a regulation requiring it, this is why i don't disclose. Not saying necessary with Can Post but when various airlines have instituted disclosure or open identification policies, it has resulted in more missing or stolen items. Obviously for rifles people can make an educated guess but not for pistols and those are the bigger target. I've had CFOs tell me not to advise shippers as a result.

Just sent 3 packages. They asked me if I had any flammables, or, Lithium Ion batts. I asked if they had a bad experience with them, and was told 'Yes'. Didn't say anything about firearms, nuclear devices, or live animals.

I got my 1st. question after many years of shipping . It was " Does it contain any hazardous materials ? "
I asked why the question . Reply was , "I am new @ this & my instructions during training require it. "

Welcome to the New World of Sh,,,,, happening everywhere . Maybe someday a security entrance @ Post Office ?

This is a fun thread. I was being asked for what do I have in my blue shot gun case. I had a Beretta silver 686. I don't want to scare the old lady who was riding the elevator with me. So, I told her that I have a music instrument in my case. "Yamaha music instrument". I know the logo are very different. But they are close enough. Some people can't tell the difference. So we both were happy.

I was carrying my 2 rifle hard travel case in to a hotel for an overnight and someone asked me "6 string or bass?" and I looked at them like they were crazy... I had no idea what the hell they just asked me until I'd thought about it later on.
