Irunguns AR180B versus WK190-C...thoughts?

It is a piston gun. No gas tube.

And your point is???.....

Operating system type has nothing to do with whether or not the gun is designed to take a standard ar-15 barrel. Last time I checked a piston system or gas tube wasn't part of the barrel.

Anyways, RWA has answered all I needed to know;

Our upper takes standard rifle length AR15 barrels. You can change out a barrel in approximately 10 minutes. Standard model is chambered to 5.56 but can be changed out to .223 Wylde or .300 blackout for example.

This video shows some of the rigorous R&D testing done by RWA that has gone into the development of the upper receiver for the NO DAK Spud hybrid 180B. More to come after the Calgary Gun Show. We are currently taking orders for June Delivery.

Was part of the answer you didn't get. Also important as one cannot run a gas tube im other lengths from what i can see.

Hi Guys
Just some specs and explanation on the gas system and barrel. The rifle does take a standard AR-15 barrel with rifle length gas port, and has a 3 piece gas piston system exactly the same as the AR180B-2.
To make up the for the difference in gas system lengths we designed a gas block to accommodate. This was done intentionally to ensure we would also have all the spare parts for the legacy AR180B-2. It has taken a year to design and test all of our parts, and a lot of thought has went into every piece. Even our bolt release is a drop-in unit for the original rifle.
We really appreciate all the feedback and suggestions we heard today. Looking forward to Day 2 tomorrow.

Is there an option to buy an upper with no barrel and handguard so that end users can build whatever kind of rig they want?
I would certainly like purchase this instead of the WK-180C even if it is more expensive, but I would like to ensure that I can buy something that is modular (which it certainly seems to be!) without having to go through the trouble of selling the parts that I will be swapping.
Price is really a deciding factor here, especially since Wolverine's version is 1/3 cheaper even if it is lower overall quality.

Im sorry but our rifle does not take AR-15 Hand guards. We have designed our own barrel locking system and are fully licensed with Magpul to use their technology. The two versions of the rifle available are the two extremes of our variety. We had to decide which ones to mass produce first.
All together we have 12 different hand guards designed and will be making more available as production ramps up. If there is nothing in our line up that interest a customer. The customer can always contact us and discuss custom options. We first want to get as many rifles to you guys as possible.

Thanks for all of the work and innovation that has gone into this project, also thanks for taking the time to post in this thread.

Would it accommodate a bull barrel profile?

Will there be a 6.5 grendel or 7.62x39 option? Or are parts interchangeable with standard AR parts like bolts and what Not? I see you mention that barrels are.

I am happy to support anyone who put thier nuts on the chopping block that is the Canadian market.
Keep it affordable pleasep.

The irg 180 is 100% compatable with the original ar-180b. Wolverines is not - from my understanding...

Well to be fair the Nodak Spud NDS18s lower that IRG/RWA is using is compatible with the Armalite 180b. The RWA upper might be able to be used on an original AR180b lower... likely.

Who says the Kodiak (Wolverine) isn't the same? Seriously curious where you got that info.

Hey Guys.
You are correct that our upper will fit legacy guns. In fact, the first prototype was built on a polymer lower (but may be tighter or looser depending on your lower). I can't guarantee a perfect fit because I only had one sample. The stage two stock adaptor will work as well and allow the use of the second take down pin, if your lower is cut for an adaptor. We have developed this product line to be very versatile. Now that we are done the show, all disclosure will happen over the next few days. I'm going to rest tonight and follow the thread that will be on I Run Guns tomorrow. There will be a full write-up and pictures for us to discuss. Fun times ahead.

Thanks for all the props fenceline. Maybe they should know you don't work for us. lol
