BCL102 Range Review, SECOND RANGE TRIP POST 123!!!

Thats why the smart ones got stripped receiver sets :)

But a lot of the problems are just from chitty assembly and lack of QC. Nothing a bit of elbow grease cant fix if you have the tools.

Well, anyone worried about quality control of the 102 can rest easy now.. as I have had my rifle for a few months and have had ZERO failures with it!
It is in complete stock configuration and let me tell ya! It is quite astonishing how well it has performed, not a single problem the entire time I've had it.
And believe me, I have put it through its paces... for example: one day I took it out of the safe, then though, na na buddy! Get that back in there! So before I could even open the free soft case it came with.. back into the safe it went. That was a day I really remembered, because I still can't believe how well it performed that day!

So basically after all the waiting, b.s. that came along with it regarding changes, and then seeing it's a poor performer.. I don't even want it anymore, yet alone want to shoot it. So one of these days I'll have to put it up on the EE, perhaps a reverse auction or simply best offer.
No use trying to put a round in the chamber even. I'm over it I think. Will chalk it up as the second worst gun purchase I ever made.

I hear you loud and clear, had mine, had a bunch of issues, sent back to BCL/NEA a few times, and then said the hell with this POS! I can’t believe that people are so desperate for this rifle . At the end of the day, by the time some people spend their time and extra money fixing what BCL should have had sorted in the first place, they would have been better off buying a MH from ATRS.

I didn't know they finally acquiesced to their mediocre rifle building and offered the only valuable parts (the lower/upper) lol
At least they did. Was it a small run or are they still offering the stripped sets?

I understand the s**t assembly and lack of QC fixed with elbow grease and tools. Not on a $2K rifle though. On a Chinese Norinco, yes. All day long! I live by that principle with old trucks, Chinese firearms and small engines I pick up on the side of the road. But not on a $2K made in North America rifle. Cannot swallow that pill no matter how much water I try to flush it down with.

Nah! for half the price of a MH I got a AR10 and no proprietary parts as a bonus.

But the MVs is a sweet looking piece of kit :)

It's called "Bleeding Edge Technology" for a reason ;)
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Bleeding_edge_technology

DILLIGAF basically nailed it : many Canadians will pay 2000$ for a not fully debugged non-restricted AR10.
Remember that the first AK47s, AR15s, M14s rifles and Toyota cars were full of bugs.
I prove my point be saying the many Canadians will pay even more for an non-restricted "AR15" like rifle.
(This is already proven by the huge presales of AR180s ...)

In the meantime, I'll be praying to get a decent, working rifle from BCL !

Alex

I’ve seen your parts list, there is no way you are near half of $3650 for a base model MH. Unless you know of some Brownells coupon codes at 50% off.

So you are comparing a base model MH to my build... lol... Compare it to a equivalent MH and the price is double. The base MH looks horrible BTW.

And You dont have to go full retard to build a 102 like I did and still get an awesome build. But the MH isnt a AR10 and you cant built it as you see fit so they dont compare whatsoever.

Let also be realistic 2K now is pocket change compared to 10 years ago. And I paid 800$ for s stripped 102 set, will pay 1K for an ATRS MVs set and a couple weeks ago I paid 200$ for a stripped AR-15 set...lol...

the NR status is expensive in Canada, But thats life. You gotta pay to play and the guys that took the time to get NR sets approved need to make money.

the 180 is the ugliest piece of kit I've seen in a long time. the only reason it sold is price point and NR status. For the kind of money they are asking might as well get an original. lol...

Only because people are willing to pay ridiculous prices for NR status.
If they didn't... the price would come down quickly.

Cheers,

That only work because people are willing to pay stupid amounts for "NR" status.
If they didn't... the price would drop.

Cheers,

When did 2K become stupid ? Heck I cant even get my Daughters teeth fixed for less than 5K and I have insurance. Cant even go out with the wife for a nice dinner for less than 300$

I swear some gun owners just need to take up knitting so we can stop hearing them complain about how expensive this hobby is. If you think rifles are expensive, add training, Gear and ammo. The price of a rifle becomes irrelevant.

Instead of complaining, I got a 2nd job ( started my own tile business )and worked my a$$ off to buy my toys. Pretty simple solution if you ask me.

And some firearm owners have more money then brains.

Look at the prices in the U.S... the market is flooded with ARs. They are almost giving them away and still going bankrupt.
And yet we are willing to pay 5k-8k for a system that it may or may not accept standard ar10 mags.

Well then you get all AR's non restricted with short barrels in Canada and we can see the same here. Till then comparing the US to Canada means nothing.

I rest my case boys...

It is almost like we are still living in the 1990s.

I can order stuff from the u.s, pay the shipping, import tax, 30% exchange fees and still save 300-400 Canadian dollars...

That should tell you something*...but it's your hard earned money... spend it any way you would like.

Cheers,

Yes you can save 300-400 but are still restricted to the range only. I will pay 300 or so extra to let mine live free or as free as it gets in Canada. But it is a matter of choice like you said. But range only isn't a choice I want so will pay a bit extra.

That was a generic example jackass! :D
Spend your money any way you would like... just one mans opinion that you are getting raped.

I dont consider 800$ a rape. Heck I blew more money in a strip club in Germany in 1 night :) Woke up with a Chitty tattoo to boot as well the next day...lol...

So, I have been looking through the BCL102 threads and at the end it is either:

- completely reliable out of the box with good accuracy and no ftf etc

or

- doesn't cycle right out of the box with crap assembly and fit and finish and has to be returned immediately for warranty work if they accept it

Which is it? All I want is a NR rifle that I can hunt with
