The Stag 10s NR stripped receiver set thread

I’ve experienced a few of those in diff Cal’s.

My point is, you can’t really change your headspace, with gauges, not in an AR .
Maybe tell you if it’s not right, but what are the chances of that?

Problem slim, but is the risk really worth it to save $70? The peace of mind is worth it.

Was $639, then $695. No need to make up numbers. We have lowered it to $579 after negotiations Monday, and are crediting the diff to our customers. From feedback we have received our customers are happy with the outcome.

Let us focus on low $600/high $600 instead on getting caught red handed trying to price-sodomized canadian gun enthusiast. I will give you credit for one thing, your CGN response time has drastically improved from 3/4 days to 5 minutes.

since when is 579 "low 500's" ??

I hope you don't do your own taxes

Fixed - my mistake. Thanks.

I don't get why people are still complaining about prices.... oh wait it's CGN

I really don't care about the price - it's price sodomization of canadian gun enthusiast is what I have a problem with.

If you believe E.A dropped (magically renegotiated) their prices from mid 800/high 600 to high 500 for any other reason then to attempt to control profit loses to IRG - you need help.

It is also nice of them to offer crediting the diff - but only because it saves you from wasting your time lodging a complaint with your credit card company. A complaint that they most likely would lose automatically.

No lost customer here, thanks Arms East!

Bob, are you sniffing the nut meg again?.. JK

Rewarding someone who just got caught trying to rob you blind is like voting Liberal to punish Conservatives. Just idiotic but...whatever floats your boat.

If anyone of you White Knights have the need to respond. Let us take it off-line, feel free to PM me.

Cheers,

Of all the AR barrels, have you seen any that are not headspaced correctly?

When closing the bolt on an AR, how do you tell if it’s too loose?
I’d really like to know,as I’ve used the gauges and couldn’t tell.

Yes.

If the action closes on a GO gauge, the rifle will accept industry standard cartridges.
If the action closes on a NO GO gauge, the rifle has a touch of excess headspace.
If it closes on a FIELD gauge, headspace is excessive, and the rifle probably shouldn't be fired.

The AR clinics we hold annually are conducted by a Colt Canada trained armorer. In addition to visual and function checks, rifles are subjected to inspection using a series of gauges: headspace; firing pin protrusion; gas tube alignment; bore wear; barrel straightness.

Incidentally, I have made up AR barrels from blanks, machining the breeches to fit the barrel extensions, reaming the chambers, contouring, installing the gas blocks, drilling the gas ports, installing the muzzle devices. There is very little difference between an AR and a bolt action rifle when it comes to fitting a barrel. Same things must be dealt with.

Hi Guys,
I am thinking of making a upper myself. I presume that I need the following items:

1. Barrel
2. Gas Block
3. Hand Guard
4. Muzzle Device

I have th following tools:
1. Torque Wrench
2. Good Bench Vise

What other tools are required? I believe that I need a barrel reaction rod. It cost about $120. Plus I would also need to buy/rent go/no go gauges to check headspace. This is another $50-60 item.

Would it be more cost effective if I were to go to a gun smith? I am in down town Toronto, where people can buy multiple guns without ever having to account for them.

You guidance is very much appreciated.

Many...many bbls have been installed with a vice and a piece of leather to protect the bbl. A cheap crows foot made for standard bbl nuts and torque wrench.

Anyone know if the Magpul UBR will work with the entry length receiver extension? I'm assuming I'd have to use the stubby buffer and shorter spring?

UBR comes with its own proprietary tube you can use the standard stag carbine spring and Buffer in it. Easy install.

From another thread WRT stripped receiver being NR or not...

Ok, there needs to be a little clarification on the understanding of the FRT. Yes these are Non-restricted receiver sets as long as the barrel length is 18.5" or longer. As mentioned in our ad these are only Non restricted if the barrel length is 18.5 or longer. If IRUNGUNS or any other retailer sends out the receiver sets they have to be transferred as restricted. Once the barrel is installed the firearm needs to be verified and the status needs to be changed.

IRUNGUNS will make a release mid next week with directions and a special offering for everyone who has purchased the receiver sets from us.

Stay tuned and have a great weekend.

The IRUNGUNS Team

Also, that had me wonder, is it the same for 858 receivers without barrels that some of us got from Wolverine???

The bottom line DOES NOT indicate that the stripped set is Restricted as-is; it just states that the receiver set requires a 18.5"+ barrel to be an NR firearm. This, as written, seems to be a gist of the semi-auto canadian laws for barrel length, AND DOES NOT indicate that the bare receivers are restricted!

That's very vague language IMO, and it should have been CLEARLY written that anyone ordering a bare set without a barrel that these would be considered a restricted firearm.

Heck, the name of the items even has "NR" at the start of its name in three places, and not once does the word "restricted" appear in the description/conditions/etc (outside of 'non restricted' 'NR' of course, which doesnt count)

IRG : please clarify this situation soonest. Thank you
