Let me rephrase. They will not ship/release them without a non restricted FRT.

Who told you this? That’s not what I was told by ATRS.

Someone from ATRS posted exactly that; that it would ruin their business financially if they were to release a new firearm as NR, and then the firearms lab came back with a restricted classification. I really don't have any reason to make this stuff up, and believe me, I'm NOT an MDI fanboy. I'm no happier with them than the next guy. I just want my NR rifle that feels like an AR, just like you. Whether it happens to be the SLR, or the ATRS MS, I'd be thrilled with either one. I'll try to see if I can find the post, but it looks like some posts were deleted from a few threads.

We shall see. I hope I'm wrong, and you don't have to spend months and months getting strung along by promises of "a few more weeks" like the SLR guys (I.e. me) did. It sucks. I hope that if you've actually been promised a September completion and delivery schedule, that it actually happens. I just have my doubts based on what I've read is all.

Edit: There they are. I'm just basing my opinion on these two posts, do with that what you will. I have no information other than this, so if you've been told differently by ATRS, then I stand corrected. But again, I think time will tell, as it always does.

Maccabee or Modern Sporter?

Did anyone compared those two? Pros and cons? They are priced close, 999 vs 975. Both are sets of receivers.

I’ve handled both the ATRS prototype & a Maccabee prototype reciever set with its ‘quick takedown bolt’. Here are the Pro & Cons as I see it.

Maccabee Pros
Already has a FRT
already shipping, although many months late, if you ordered now it while be a LONG time until you get one.

Cons
they use a bolt for taking down, or their tool less take down bolt that looks like it was made from extra parts from a IKEA furniture set.
doesn’t take all triggers because of their ‘improved trigger pocket’ system, that is not actually an improvement, nobody cares about it and nobody asked for it.
Slant cut magwell, some like it some don’t.
No forward assist.
Small ish brass deflector on the prototypes, I think they have made it bigger now.
New company, no track record, they had almost no experience with AR type rifles.
Whatever their original manufacturing plans were fell through, so they had to buy their own CNC machines and become a manufacturer.

ATRS MS Pros
it’s a bit cheaper
I think it is better simpler design, definitely cheaper to manufacture
Sounds like a Forward assist will be an option.
Will take all AR triggers
Normal magwell profile
Uses a front captive pivot pin, just like a normal AR.

Cons
No FRT yet

Assuming the ATRS MS gets the expected NR classification I believe it to be a better design. Time will tell which one is better.

Also call me crazy, but I'm interested in seeing what BCL has done with the Badger.

Its piston driven. I didnt know that was still a thing on ARs...lol... And just looking on how poorly the 102s are built I wounlndt touch those with a 10' poll.

I cant wait to see all the magical features they will offer.... LMFAO and the train wreck of threads that will follow.

So you're saying Rick's posts are lies?

Like I said. Place an order and the email you get will reveal everything you need to know. Lots has changed since those old posts.

After finding out Wyatt isn’t going to honor the preorder through Westrifle I have less than no interest in buying an SLR.

I’m going to do what I should have done in the first place and buy a MS from ATRS.

If you think loosing 1K is risky, you need to find a new hobby. Its not about the money its about the principle of not living on my knees like a sheep.

Well I was talking about the MVs ;) and they have ZERO proprietary parts :p

It's not the $1000 receiver set that worries me. It's getting stopped in the bush and not being able to prove the rifle isn't restricted or a variant of an AR and having the entire setup confiscated and who knows what charges laid.

What are you looking for?
You said you handled the MS, so you must’ve been in the shop.
Just ask ATRS what is going on.

I never said I handled an MS, I handled the MH and MV. Nothing special.

You spend a lot of your time arguing on pseudo ar threads hey

Posting facts mostly. Did you have anything beneficial to post or just making an observation?

Maccabee Pros
Already has a FRT
already shipping, although many months late, if you ordered now it while be a LONG time until you get one.Not late as no finite date was ever given for delivery.

Cons
they use a bolt for taking down, or their tool less take down bolt that looks like it was made from extra parts from a IKEA furniture set.Take down is neither time sensitive nor something that needs to be done all the time. Get over the bolt it's trivial.
doesn’t take all triggers because of their ‘improved trigger pocket’ system, that is not actually an improvement, nobody cares about it and nobody asked for it.It takes most triggers, find one and move along.
Slant cut magwell, some like it some don’t. Who cares, changes nothing as far as performance or reliability is concerned.
No forward assist.Good, they're a stupid idea to begin with. Anyone with even a little knowledge about manual of arms knows better than to play with it.
Small ish brass deflector on the prototypes, I think they have made it bigger now. It's adequate for lefties.
New company, no track record, they had almost no experience with AR type rifles. Not true, they market/offer the Gilboa I believe.
Whatever their original manufacturing plans were fell through, so they had to buy their own CNC machines and become a manufacturer.Again not true, MDI has CNC machines, they simply bought more to help with the volume of SLR's ordered.

ATRS MS Pros
it’s a bit cheaper$24 isn't worth talking about.
I think it is better simpler design, definitely cheaper to manufacture If it's cheaper to manufacture then why is the price nearly the same?
Sounds like a Forward assist will be an option.Dumb
Will take all AR triggersTrivial
Normal magwell profilemakes no difference
Uses a front captive pivot pin, just like a normal AR.Makes no difference

Cons
No FRT yetSerious problem

What happened with the westrifle preorders ?

Apparently you rep for Maccabee or at least you play one on CGN...

What happened with the westrifle preorders ?

Wyatt and Westrifle are having a dispute. Long story short Wyatt is refusing to honor the preorders through Westrifle and it’s left 20 people, myself included, in the lurch.
Through email communication with Wyatt I’ve been able to confirm that he knew that he wouldn’t be shipping to Westrifle long ago and said nothing, which has compounded things. Some dealers still had preorder space available that I would have jumped on if I had known the Westrifle deal wasn’t going to work.

Getting straight answers out of Wyatt about the situation was extremely difficult. He often left things up to interpretation, which made for a long drawn out conversation that could have been quick.

It left me wondering what would happen if warranty work were needed.

Not very impressive.
