Send them to the sam company in Ontario that Colt Canada uses. Or the place in Edmonton that does ATRS’s stuff.
I can imagine fitment issues with Cerekote as I am reading that the tolerances are already very tight. Cerekote will just make fitment issues worse and you'll have to basically remove the Cerekote to get it to fit together.

Here's hoping they can find a competent Anodizing company with experience and capacity.
Most of the feedback here and by email on cerakote was negative so I had a talk on the phone with Wyatt the head cheese at Maccebee. I shared your and our concerns about this last-minute change of coating. I'll relay what I understood from the conversation.
Maccabee has not been able to find an anodizer within geograpic range that can do a consistent type 3 hard anodizing. The hardness and scratch resistance is mediocre and inconsistent. (I neglected to ask how some anodized receivers could get released anyway, I just sent an email asking this)
Meanwhile they feel that cerakote as applied by Red Deer Shooting Centre will perform at a highly satisfactory level.
Note that cerakote is not always cerakote, many shops that do it are not fully trained and certified. The process doesn't matter nearly as much as the competence in the process of application. There are good anodizers, bad anodizers. Good cerakoters, bad cerakoters. A good cerakote job can be stronger than a bad anodize and vice versa.
In Maccabee's sandblast and other testing, the anodizing was just not holding, while the cerakote performed quite well.
RDSC has a state of the art cerakote facility and properly trained staff. RDSC will guarantee the cerakote against any defects that exceed normal wear and tear. A side bonus is that at some future time Maccabee will be able to offer colours.
Nevertheless, Maccabee hears the feedback and will broaden their search for anodizers to find a solution for people that 'must have' anodizing, which will take some more time of course. We at TNA have some ideas so we are exploring this as well.

Zach's comment: I understand this is a big curveball. We're working to figure this out.
Maccabee's first major batch goes off to cerakote next week, I'm looking forward to getting one in my hands to see just how good it is.
Give us your comments
I'd just as soon as say I'll take mine raw, theres several annodizing companies here in Winnipeg.
After doing some research, I've seen that yes some cerakoting jobs can yeild very fine results, but now I'm just skeptical at their ability to produce.
I have a feeling that if they said cerakote from the beginning it wouldn't have been such a big deal, yes some people might not have bought in, but we'd know what we're getting. It's worrisome that 4 months behind schedule and they're just figuring this out.
I'm wondering how long before MDI is bought out by another company. Not trying to be a ####, but they're on their way to a bad reputation, and they have a pretty high demand patent here. Some other company with deep pockets might choose to swoop in.
On there way? They already have a terrible reputation. I dont see how they can sell the business in it's current state. The have hardly any finished product. Have virtually no assets. No reputation. What would they buy. The rights to the design maybe. But even then how proven is this design. No one really knows.
The only thing the did right was design a product that was approved nr. They didn't even do the machining on the first ones it was farmed out to someone competent. In the 10 months of screwing around, they should have investigated anodizing. Now the responses is well cerakote will ship first if you anodising you have to wait even longer. They had more then enough time to have tests run and get this together. It seems like they cannot multitask. When there jaws for the CNC needed replacing everything stopped. Again no plan no multitasking.
This is a one or 2 man show in a barn without any business experience at all. They even like to show off on Instagram about how little they know. Frankly if a receiver set is 1000 dollars they should be perfect. Like 100 percent perfect.
They also should have run 20 or so instead of this huge run. Yes boys your margins will not be good on small runs but you figure out these problems before you have big issues.
No business plan. No support. No experience. No product.
I cannot fathom how some people are still waiting patiently for theres or feel this is acceptable. Cdn gun owners are so used to getting bent over we accept it. Fortunately its 2018 and we now have other options. Any other industry this company would be finished ages ago.
ATRS started machining what like 4 weeks ago and are already almost caught up to them. A company that stands by what they sell answers questions and is transparent. Who knew?
I really feel for TNA here. I think all the dealers should drop them and refuse to sell until they have a tested working product they can reliably ship. MacDef is making all the dealers look bad. Maybe that would fix them but I doubt it.
Demand a refund! Conditions of the sale changed, so it's pretty hard for them to argue it.
I can tell you that the fit, and definitely the finish are much better from atrs!

My understanding is that all of the retailers were actually forced to pay for their own stock up front so they're as invested in selling as many units as they can just like MDI, financial-wise. Please correct me if I am wrong.
I would love for everyone to drop them like a hot potato unless they get their #### together but given the above situation I don't think this can happen.
how much does anodizing cost to the end user?
give that value as a discount and ship me a bare set.
So we should all bend over and buy this hot garbage because MacDef swindled there dealers? What is wrong with people. You going to take the fall for some shady deal? If you buy a car and then ford said oh sorry we are actually going to paint it a different colour and not bother with plating on parts after waiting 8 months. Do you think you would still buy it to help the ford dealer out because they had to buy it also? Id be calling a lawyer.
Canada is so full of pushovers. We all say sorry all the time and never hold anyone accountable. They promised a NR AR upper and lower with proper anodising for 1000 dollars. THey are not delivering that. Everyone should demand a discount and pull ordrs then they would cave and do it right. But loads of people will line up and still pay 1000 becasue we need to support the little guys. Ill support the little guys when the little guys do what they say.
I agree TNA 1000%will take a hit but that is called business. You dont win every deal you ever do. If they were willing to risk an unknown company making gun parts in a barn with full payment up front that is not my problem. That sounds like a bad decision. I will continue to support TNA buy buying quality items.
Hi Zac
Given the change in cerakote does this speed things up or are we still looking at receiving something like 10 sets a week?
