I can't wait for this to come out!

silly question: wouldn't barrel being detachable hurt the accuracy? I am sure gun will have to be re-sighted every time you "quickly"replace the barrel. And why would anybody want to replace the barrel anyway? Let alone do that in 2 seconds? Must be some viable reason - can somebody explain?

MG barrels are quick change
the steyr aug and sa 80 have lmg roles thus quick change barrels
and it does not affect accuracy as the barrels are matched to the reciever (maybe over time and with abuse) relatively speaking

Has Questar or Canada Ammo commented at all on this gun? If anyone can get these in they can.

If they are legal or available here without hesitation I,m ordering one.

I love the AUG and anything that looks like it

The SA 80 series of the light support weapon that I think you are talking about, the LSW (long silly weapon), was meant to be a light machine gun, however having only 30 round magazines made this unpractical. The LSW does not have a quick change barrel design like the Steyr Aug or the FN minimi. The only way it can come off is in a shop.

The not being able to change the barrel in the field is another point against the LSW, there is an outrigger setup to support the longer barrel making it just that much heavier. It just wasn't a very well thought out weapon. It is acurate as f*ck, with the longer barrel and bipod, but as a support weapon it was about as clever and useful as a chocolate teapot.
