The Stag 10s NR stripped receiver set thread

....Excited to try my Timney Calvin Elite.

If your purpose is precision shooting you will LOVE the Calvin Elite.

I have that trigger installed in my MV and there is no better AR trigger out there for precision shooting. It's an extremely light, crisp, smooth trigger. Also I have long fingers and the ability to position the trigger shoe forward is a huge plus for me.

I even use it coyote hunting although I'm not sure I'd recommend it for most people as a hunting trigger. I'm good with it but it takes some good trigger finger discipline to use it in situations where the adrenaline kicks in.

Isn't that a US company? How does that work for customs?

If it's less than $100 they ship it to you. If it's $100-500 Brownells sends you a pdf form to fill out and then ships it to you. If it's over $500 you need to pay $250 for an export permit. It will cost $10 extra to ship to Canada and then when the package arrives at your house you pay taxes and fees.

How long does it usually take have parts shipped to Canada?

Hi, nice rifle ;) (I stole your ideas for the stock)

My trigger was very nice for a "milspec" one.. I guess ymmv. It's now replaced by an eclipse though. The rear takedown pin on mine is fairly tight, but I can remove it with my fingers only. The front on I have to use a punch. It's not ridiculously tight, but tighter than the rear one.

How is the magpul bipod on the wieght balance? Do you feel it when it's on/off?

I put the pin in the vice and just ran 100 grit sand paper tape over it for a couple minutes until it was polished. It slides in and out perfectly now.

The bipod is pretty light, with the weight of the barrel I don't think it's noticeable. I'll spend most of my time shooting this from a bench, so weight wasn't a concern.

It would be cool to see if you made a video. I bought a 2 stage trigger but I'd still like to see what this involves for my next build.

Is the Timney Calvin elite better than a triggertech ar trigger? I want something super nice for my stag. I’m used to nice triggers like the kidd two stage, tt diamond triggers etc...

Take a look at the Geisele national match. Very nice 2 stage.

Nice, yes I am hand loading for it so I am looking forward to the CE. I have it sitting here but have not put it in a rifle yet. I quite like it on my Defiance 6mm.

Talked to Stag about my lower being out of spec today. Their response was for me to talk to IRG about warranty and IRG is not picking up their phone nor answering emails so I guess I am SOL. I hope there isn't many lowers out there like mine from IRG as AE is sending Norgon Ambi Catches to affected customers as a quick and easy fix. Definitely went with the wrong vendor this time, lesson learned.

I haven't tried this as I'm at work, but...how would a Norgon work in the wider Stag 10 receiver? I thought they only worked in slimmer AR15 type rifles. Wouldn't the threaded part be too short to even catch the button?

I have one on order with my ambi fun switch from Nordic and was told it should fit (iv been told that BS before) but if it is indeed too short just get a longer button.

The first thing I did with mine was install a Norgon. Fit like a charm and mags drop free. They are adjustable and my threads are just flush with the button on the right side of the receiver- same as the stock mag catch.
