The T97 Thread!

I just sent a couple pics to N_N . Please feel free to post them on here for others to compare. Keep in mind also that the chamfered area is right where the web of the case is and the brass is very thick there. Most reloading manuals have a picture of a cross sectioned case in them in the front section, so you can see what I mean.

picture courtesy of Workin Man, Jim. can't tell if his has quite the chamfer, but it does have some case body showing, so maybe it is more of a norm.

Every T97 I have seen has had that chamfer.

Thanks for the encouragement, I certainly hope mine is within the norm. The left side has a thin chamfer but the right is slightly lower and the chamfer is larger, which is what got me worrying about excess unsupported case on that side. But I hope you are right and it's nothing serious. I'd rather be an idiot who worried over nothing :)

Ah I see, yeah I'm researching it right now. Don't reload yet, so this is new info for me, thank you.

Another one from Workin Man, fingers crossed mine is just a sloppier version of that, within the safe limits :)

Just took my gen 2 the range the top rail keeps coming loose, that normal?

Just got mine detail stripped it and cleaned. Top rail was loose tightened but have to pick up some lock tight and proper Allen key, initial impression is very positive.

Only real issue is the mag release, keeps catching on mag.
Not interested in the t97.ca upgrades but any suggestions about what loads work best and an extended canted cocking handle that clears rail mounted sight.

perhaps not a question to be asked here, but is there a reason why other semi-automatic rifles chambered in .223 are so much more expensive than Norinco T97?
