Here are my first shots at 100 yards after the break in procedure for the BSF barrel (shot 10 rounds + clean, shot 20 rounds + clean).
The left group is 10 rounds of Federal Lake City 149 grain FMJ and the right group is 10 rounds of Lapua Scenar 185 grain HPBT.
The gas block was ajusted to maximal opening. I'm really looking foward to see the result with my reloads (will try first hornady match 168 BTHP). Also, i'm really impressed with the BSF barrel as it almost doesn't heat at all! I shot my 20 rounds in less than 5 min and the barrel wasn't even hot to touch!

Here is the update regarding my reloads with Hornady 168 BTHP and varget. I shot it today at 100y, Temp around 9C and little wind. I wasn't really able to identify any good result... I guess my 1:10 barrel want some heavier bullets. I've just ordered some SMK 175, lapua scenar 185 and SMK 200gr

Here is a picture. The best one seems to be varget 43gr but again... not that great. I was getting signs of over pressure around 45gr (ejector mark and primer getting flat).

What's the total for the build alone?

What's the total for the build alone?

I already had some parts lying around (Scope, Scope mount, magpul PRS)
For the rest, here is the price without taxes...

Stag-10 upper/lower combo (579$)
BSF Barrels, AR10 20.00” 308 Win Carbon Fiber Fluted Barrel, Rifle Length Gas, 0.875” Gas Block (899$)
V7 WEAPON SYSTEMS, TITANIUM BOLT CARRIER GROUP, BLACK ION BOND, 308 WIN (760$)
SUPERLATIVE ARMS, ADJUSTABLE BLEED-OFF GAS BLOCK (130$)
Lantac Nitrided Gas Tube, Rifle Length (39$)
Elftmann AR10 .308 Drop-In Trigger (399$)
JP Enterprises Gen 2 AR Silent Captured Spring (130 USD)
Griffin Armament Taper Mount Minimalist Stealth Flash Suppressor, 7.62 5/8X24 TPI (129$)
Magpul PRS gen 2
JP AR-10 MKIII Free floating modular Handguard 15.50 (370$)
Stag-10 charging handle (35$)

Total without scope, scope mount and PRS stock : 3470 $

Quite expensive but I'm really happy with the result. I had some really nice result with Lapua Scenar 167 + varget last week (sub-MOA) and I'll try some new loads with Lapua Scenar 185, SMK 175 and SMK 200. I'm sure I'll have a sub-MOA machine once the load development will be over.

My friend and I built our 338 Federal Stag 10s.

A few things about the McGowen barrels. The gas block journal is way too long, now we have bare metal showing. The gas block journal is too large of a diameter. It's a good thing I never video'd it because it took a long time, we had to sand the journal down, heat up the gas block, and twist it on. I've never had a gas block that hard to install.

We dialed my friend's gas system in, in less than 5 shots with the Superlative bleed off gas block. Mine is still not 100%, it won't lock back the bolt on an empty mag. I swapped out the buffer and spring for a JP silent captured spring to just to rule out it. Both rifles have had zero fail to feed or fail to eject.

We fired a few rounds at the range, it was looking alright, it's really cold so we were rushed. All my shots were spread out horizontal, I have a feeling the groups will tighten right up.

^^^ when the order is placed with McGowan there is the option to select gas block seat length. Their standard is 1.9" (which I'm assuming is what you got sent) but you can request any other length you want. If you ordered through Jerry he should have known that.

I just told him what I wanted for contour, length, chamber, and finish, and he ordered it.

I got a Mcgowen barrel and had no issues with the gas block.

I used a slr rifleworks clamp on.

Just had to make sure the gas block was spaced off the shoulder because the gas port is set 0.050” further.

That is standard on all mil spec AR barrel’s to leave room for the mil spec hand guard end cap. People forget this and inadvertently cover the gas port.

can't wait to get my .338fed Jury barrel

what ammo are you using? factory ? reloads? I'm hoping to use the 210 nosler as I have a couple hundred in my reloading stash but will have to see what works best.
I've got the superlative arms bleed off unit as well. Did you stick with stag-10 parts in the upper and lower or aftermarket?
Mines all stag inside but contemplating a 2stage trigger upgrade

I was using reloads, 200gr Accubonds starting at 44 gr of Varget.

It has a Brownels BCG, lower is stock.
