What 3 port muzzle break for AR do you use?

Forgive my ignorance, I'm so new to AR's I haven't even fired my new Oracle yet, but here goes-

Why a muzzle brake at all on an AR15? I can see for an AR10, but surely the recoil on a .223 isn't enough to justify a brake?

What am I missing here?

It's not about taming the hellish recoil of the 223.

It's about mitigating movement / muzzle rise so that you can maintain your sight picture and accurately put more rounds on target in a shorter amount of time

1 sight picture, 2 shots.
With a muzzle brake and a decent trigger and as long as your fundamentals are solid, .14 seconds between shots is easy on my rifle and it is nothing special.
Two scoring hits on target and I am already moving the rifle into the next target. Basically a muzzle brake doesn't make me a better skilled shooter but it saves me time during matches.

I had the EXACT same issue with a Maple Ridge brake. Like, identical in every way to you, only hand tightened it until resistance about half way on, then had to wrench it back off and it damaged the end of the threads of the barrel.

My 3 port stainless rock solid brake from maple ridge is a work of art. Very happy with the fit and finish in person. Exceeded the pictures on the site.

I have also had PMs confirming this from other CGNers as well.

What boils me is not as much throwing the MRA brake in the garbage,
It's having my brand new IBI barrel looking like s*** at the muzzle now, having tu buy a 2nd functional brake, and having to buy thread repair dies.
Sent them a message with the issue, if ever I don't get any reply by February that manufacturer will be crossed in my books.

Got my new tool in, saved my IBI barrel muzzle!
Did a slight chamfer with a flat file all around the muzzle exterior edge, lubed up the threads and ran this tool, muzzle saved in under 2 minutes. New brake went on without the slightest hiccup and had plenty of meat to grab on, and now a happy camper once again. Tried the AR this morning too, that muzzle did not move at all off target.

As for MRA, they sent a new brake, which i didn’t even feel gambler enough to even try.

I was shooting 55gr AE bulk today, and was close to -30 so didn’t have the pressure,
But each follow up shot muzzle would stay right on target.
It honestly felt like a .22 magnum i once had, maybe even softer.

The VG6 Gamma is compact, A2 flash hider size exactly,
Can’t wait to try it with stout 77gr loads and see if it’s still up for what i want it to do.
So far my hopes are high

Cool links.
Enjoyed the read.

While my VG6 Gamma is not the best, I like how small and efficient it is.
So it's up there in the top tier, while staying A2 flash hider size.
From reading those charts, one cannot go wrong with PA M4-72 obviously.
