It's not about taming the hellish recoil of the 223.
It's about mitigating movement / muzzle rise so that you can maintain your sight picture and accurately put more rounds on target in a shorter amount of time
Anyone have any experience with the ATRS brake?
Anyone have any experience with the ATRS brake?
Forgive my ignorance, I'm so new to AR's I haven't even fired my new Oracle yet, but here goes-
Why a muzzle brake at all on an AR15? I can see for an AR10, but surely the recoil on a .223 isn't enough to justify a brake?
What am I missing here?
I had the EXACT same issue with a Maple Ridge brake. Like, identical in every way to you, only hand tightened it until resistance about half way on, then had to wrench it back off and it damaged the end of the threads of the barrel.
