That is one sweet looking rig you have there and in an outstanding chambering.Really nice....

Thanks. My wife found it on an online auction and got me bidding...wasnt a smoking deal but certainly a very fair price for a rifle that is in nearly new condition

Got a B&C stock for it, well I was actually hoping it would fit 1640/4100 husqvarnas that I have but no dice so the 9.3x62 gets to to wear it

I have a question for the guru's, in the above picture I have put my 649 into a bell and carlson stock.

The rear of the trigger guard protrudes out past the stock and gets in the way of the fingers slightly, but enough that it could cut you when shooting. I'm not sure I want to file down the factory bottom metal and I wonder if a bottom metal from Tradeex such as

https://www.tradeexcanada.com/content/m98-mauser-trigger-guard-blued

would fit? I feel I'd rather keep the factory one as is and macgyver a spare. Thoughts?

I'm looking for a front site hood for mine on the 649 I posted earlier. You don't need yours eh?....lol
I'll probably check Western Gun.
Nice buy by the way.

Hahaha, Sorry Shakeyjake...good luck on your search ...could also look at Ebay, I've seen husqvarna parts on there sometimes

I finally got the stones to inlet the B&C stock to accept my 1640K 30-06....fits great and handles great...cant wait to shoot it with it's new attire

Is this a sporting rifle? Does it belong in this forum? I wonder if it was originally sold as a hunting tool or for target shooting? Doesn't seem to be much traffic on these on the web.

Yeah they belong here, single shot hunting/stalking rifles, I have the same model (30-30 btw). Shoot quite well, nice and light to carry, don't lose the extractor...

Yours looks nicer than mine :) How does it shoot? Mine has a home made extractor.

Front sight was filed way down and the bore was leaded up, prior owner must have been a cast shooter. I replaced the front sight with a fine brass bead marble, 3/8 dovetail so easy to do. Got all the lead out and just shoot jacketed, shoots very good.

As mentioned before the HVA rifles coming for sale here is the bottom of barrel quality - like Europeans won't buy them. Sure some have nice barrels, blueing or whatever but "all" of them have issues and that is why they landed here. You need to know how to "clean them up", fix them, in order to get them shoot OK.

Has anybody on here shot a 9.3x57, 5 rounds continued groups and touched the barrel after 3 rounds? Nor have I found any published group on here using $4,- Norma rounds in a $250 all in POS.
