Shouldn't have to move from your position on the station once set up.
I see how it is.

It's as easy to put on a shell catcher as it is to step back a foot or two.
I'm just wondering what the retained energy and expansion of an ejected hull is, it must be devastating.
And a shell catcher eliminates the problem, stepping back a foot, may not, as the hulls will eject to a different location o a hard right target, as they will with a hard left target.
It seems to be, when someone catches the hulls/cases and returns them as the person whose gun ejected them is preparing to shoot. Oddly enough, that person often gets upset at the person tossing them back to him. Why would someone returning his hulls/cases be offensive, when ejecting them off of the person is not?

Obviously not. You know there are some who take trap competition seriously, right? Just like guys on the bench, or golfing, or whatever other sport they're into. Is is so hard to follow rules of the game?
Would it be so hard to position the guy with a semi facing where there is no other shooter?
Have you ever shot trap? How is that even possible? Only one out of the 5 stations would there be no one beside him/her where the shells are ejecting.
Don’t the majority of competitors use O/U ?
Competitive guys, yes. Your average day at the club will see lots of pumps, semi-autos and side by sides. The post was about semi autos ejecting shells into the shooter beside. Don't even need a cheap catcher. An elastic band around the action covering the port will stop the shell from ejecting far. It's also easier to clean up after if the shell is caught and put into the bucket after being shot.

Then my solution is quite easy, if they are taking trap seriously , as that is what we are talking about.
As for your average day at the club, take a step or two out of the way and carry on.
Or just follow the rules of the game.
Everyone is there for different reasons, but shooting on the same line. Some guys are practicing for ATA shoots. Others are there for fun. They still follow the rules of the game.
Who shoots a semi for trap ??![]()
Yes, and 101 km/hr is still speeding in a 100 km/hr zone I guess.
My Derya MK12 makes many visits to the trap range![]()
