New PAL owner, looking to get about 5 SKSs

Welcome to Canada! Hope you enjoy your new found shopping options, and find as many as you see fit to buy! The two big box hunting/fishing stores in Calgary have both had SKS's in stock at various times as well. Don't mind the folks on here trying to tell you how to spend your own money, there is a crowd that seems to think they need to treat others the way the government has treated them. Got anymore questions please ask!

What an earth was that person on about? one has no clue how the purchase of goods relates to people's rights to hunt.

I am to put it simply loving the fact that something that would likely cost £800 in my home country costs circa £145 in Canada, I see it as my right to own many. I enjoy the idea of not seeing one on a rack but 5 in a row, quantity is a quality of its own after all.

I would venture that I would start with 5 different ones and then perhaps gain multiples of the more common variants.

A man after my own heart. Welcome to Canada and CGN.

Welcome! Enjoy Canada, and all it has to offer. I bought a nice SKS off the Equipment and Exchange portion of this website.

Frontier Firearms has Yugo Models in stock. As does TradexCanada. Both are Gunnutz sponsors.

Those aren't restricted..

My mistake I read it as "Non-restricted" (hence my mention of the ATRS), as for a restricted AR, meh I might just to push up the statistics but beyond that I don't see the point in spending time and money on a rifle with exactly the same capabilities as a non-restricted 5.56 rifle but with extra legal restrictions and only being able to use it on a range.

If I want a shorter rifle I'll get a bullpup, if I want a black rifle I'll get one of the several options available.

Now pistols, oh yeah those are definitely getting bought by the boatload.

If you where here about 3-5 yrs ago, prime SKS's where 200.oo and SVT-40 could be had for 300.oo, or less some times, china ones 170.oo
You are in Canada now( or are you) we don't talk pounds here any more.
I had a few matching Russians , but none left for sale.
The Yugo's I have had have been a cut above the rest., But these days you have to pay up for them.
Ohhhh SVT-40 is definitely on the "to buy list" that seems to be a perfect example of exponential growth

Check out lever arms for sks rifles
They have collector grade ones for sale too
I’ve bought a few from them and all were in excellent condition

You can get a decent AR for 5-700$ And much more fun than any sks

AR-15 is a better made gun 100%

But Because of stupid laws you can’t put on the front of ATV and go for a rip. The NR status is what tips the scale for me. And the fact that if it falls of my atv, bounces off some rocks and ends up in mud pit 0 tears will be shed. I’ll wipe it off and carry on with my trip.

Ohhh I hate to say it but having shot a TT30 I don't want one. The trigger sucks, the grip is far too small for me and it's magazine capacity sucks.

Eh I'll probably end up with one because reasons

Given the legal limitations, the difference in mag-capacity's not much of an issue in Canada, sadly... :(
