The Stag 10s NR stripped receiver set thread

I would not pay 800 for a flippin bolt. Much sooner buy a quality steel one than do that

That's for the complete BCG (unless I mis-read you). The bolts are pretty much always steel, I havent seen one in titanium, probably a very good reason for that!

I'm looking to see how a Ti firing pin and cam nut would go for though.

Edit: I've also noticed that the recoil spring might be too strong for that lighter bcg... I'm sure its ok, but I can definitively feel the missing 40% weight when it slams forwards. Its a really positive lock though. haha

Ya just the carrier is titanium not the bolt head. I cannot grasp paying that just to lighten the gun some and making a gun lighter at the rear is the worst place to lighten a gun. Barrel and forend is what you want lighter. So that it is not front heavy. I’ve thought about trying a titanium firing pin but not sure if it would really increase performance or horsepower at all lol...!

Although I agree that lightening static weight in the front makes a more pronounced difference in the way the rifle acts and feels, this is more than just lighter in the front vs rear...

It's lightening up the whole recoiling mass. Less mass = less gas required to achieve the same result = less felt recoil on that part. It's completely different than the front vs rear weight distribution.

It's the same difference as when you lighten a car's unsprung weight (caliper/pads/knuckle/LCA/etc) vs sprung, and even more when you lighten the rotating unsprung weight (rotor/wheel/tyre). You lose weight the same amount of actual weight, but your handling gets better/more precice/etc.

Edit: I also have a Titanium and Aluminum fetish... lol

To me, "T's and A's" means "Titanium and Aluminum" :)

man i am REALLY tempted to buy one of these and build a sr25 mk11 mod 0 clone

ranger-sr-25-hr.jpg

I’m thinking of building something similar off a bones GI, with a LMT SOPMOD stock for sure tho... so that SR-25 Mk11 Mod 0 Free Float RAS will fit right? (P/N KM20362-1)

sourcing one one might be a challenge mind you.
sorry if that was asked before I couldn’t read the whole thread with all the trolling and hating.
Stay zero gents

Barrel: BSF 20" Stainless/carbon fiber 6.5 creedmoor
Hand guard: Midwest industries 15"
Charging handle: Radian Raptor
Gas block: Superlative adjustable
Brake: VG6 Epsilon 6.5
Buffer tube: carbine length
Butt stock: houge (had it laying around)
Buffer: stag 10
Bolt: Brownells titanium
Bolt catch: Geissele Maratime (not yet installed)
Optic: undecided
Trigger: will change after I try out the one that's there

Loved the overall finish of the receiver. Trigger is garbage to what I'm used to. Bolt catch ineffective with 5/25pmag in photo.
Tried to make a reasonably light weight rifle from what was "readily available"
Weighs in at 7.4 lbs with no mag on my bathroom scale. Not a feather but feels like nothing compared to my m305s... Especially compared to the Sage.

Were you able to install the Geissele Maratime bolt catch on ur Stag10?

Maritime bolt catch did not work on my Stag-10. The bottom paddle prevented it from fully ‘disengaging’.
