like the title says -> I drank the Kool-Aid - I joined the Cult - CAA MCK Roni

i have been looking at these for years and i must admit i find them very appealing for some reason.
then over the last year or 2 i find that my old G17C has been just sitting in the safe now that i have bigger better Glocks to play with.

so earlier this year when one of the importers brought in a bunch of them and spread them out to all the stores i was soooooo close to getting one.
but i didn't.

but now this week rolls around and i find myself with a little extra coin in my pocket i decided to take the leap and get one.
but finding one..... hold cow!
near impossible to find the 9mm Glock ones in stock right now.
everyone is sold out!

thanks to some brother CGN'ers they sent me a couple leads for some smaller mom and pop LGS's and one place did have what i wanted in stock!

so i put in the order and now i have the week wait while it makes its way from the east all the way to the west then all the way north.

i was looking around today while dreaming of all the fun im gonna have with this kit and i thought - what the hell - then i ordered the advanced kit that goes with it.

i figure if i like the kit then ill just leave the old G17C in there full time.

anyone have one?
enjoy it?
anything i need to know going in?

super happy i picked up a bunch of those massive 10/33rd Glock mags when i did earlier this summer!
those will look soooooo nice in there!

i picked up the green one.
really wanted the white but i took what i could get.

i shall of course update once it arrives.
oh, i should order up some ammo!
i only have a couple K here.... might need more!

I’ve been toying with the idea of getting one for my 19X. It’s not getting nearly enough range time since my 48 arrived, and since I’m a real sucker for PCC’s, this was the first thing that came to mind. Did you find more than one in stock anywhere? Curious to hear what you think when you’ve had a chance to put some rounds through it

WUN,
Did you get the armbrace model pictured or the folding stock one?

ya know, thats a good question!
i dont know.
i went and just now had a look at the webpage that i ordered off of and they have 2 pictures, one shows the arm brace and the other shows the folding stock..... so....... ya i guess ill find out when it gets here?
i hope its the folding stock.

i just assumed that since we dont have the silly SBR laws that the states have that all of the ones up here would be the folder type.

Yeah... you definitely want the folding stock rather than the armbrace version. The only purpose the armbrace serves is to be sort of like a stock without actually being a stock - in the US, the armbrace model is totally legal and unregulated, whereas the folding stock model (as soon as a pistol is inserted) is considered to be a short barrelled rifle, and needs ATF approval/registration and a tax stamp. (at least that's my interpretation of their laws). Here in Canada it makes no difference, legally speaking, but the folding stock is a lot better for shooting than the armbrace.

wayupnorth: A buddy of mine and I have a couple of these carbine kits. All I can say is that they are a ton of fun! We both put some cheap red dots on them and have a blast.

so i sent a email and got back a instant answer.

Hi,

All Canadian versions are the "NFA folding stock". The arm brace version is only for the US market. We are using the pictures that the manufacturer provided to showcase all the different colour options.

Let me know if you have any other questions.

Thanks

Excellent!
Like Callahan said, the folder is really fun. It’s a well made kit and surprisingly tough. The folding buis are really stiff so I dumped mine and use a RDS only.
It’s an easy 50yd PCC now with the kit. It’s like shooting a .22.

I’m contemplating getting a dedicated Glock to sit in mine. I currently switch mine in and out as needed.

You’ll find the pistol muzzle gets really dirty from the soot and carbon accumulation form the fake muzzle of the kit.

Got my S&W M&P 2.0 MCK stock a couple of days ago, ordered from Bullseye London (I think they only had 3 in stock). And no, they didn't have any Glock ones in stock.

I’ve had mine for a few months. It’s more fun to shoot than my fx9. Sold the fx9 recently. The Roni scratches the pcc itch enough for me.

WUN;
I hope you really enjoy your new, very cool, Glock/Roni carbine.

I also recently decided my G19 needs a carbine stock. After shooting my G19 and Angstadt Arms UDP-9 together at the range last week (both 9mm with basically the same barrel length) I was amazed at how much more accurate and how much more FUN the UDP-9 was to shoot. I knew I needed a carbine kit of some type for the Glock.

I was very tempted to get one of the Roni stocks for my G19. The one thing I didn't really like is the front grip. The older US version had a vertical grip that also holds a spare mag, if that feature was still available, I think I would have gone for it:

I finally decided to go for the KPOS Scout, ordered yesterday from Zahal:

i agree 100%, i prefer a vertical surface to grab onto and i would have prefered the older style.
unfortunately they are not around anymore to get.
and i am also looking to pick up a PS90 which runs pretty much the identical front grip as this so i figured i better get use to it.

well well well!
look what the Canada Post Peep's delivered to my house today!
new toy!!!!

super impressed with the quality of this stock, nice and sturdy plastic..... is that a thing? pretty much identical poly as the Glock lowers.
unfortunately for me the extra parts kit didn't make the truck before the long weekend so i have a week wait to get the extra parts for it.
but, its ok, i just went on shift for the the next 7 days so its not like i was gonna get a chance to go shoot it till next week anyways.

wont stop me from playing ninja around the house and tactically raiding the cats!

First time I’ve seen the M&P version. Was starting to think they didn’t exist.

I don’t think I’m a fan of the new forward grip area.

What to do when you can't shoot Glock pistols well?

Ok so the Glock grip angle doesn't work for me. Putting them in these Ronis gave my Glocks another chance, at least they felt better ergonomically, as carbines.

Does anyone know if these work with the threaded barrel Gen 3 Glock 19?

Nope, and it also doesn't like the high suppressor sights that came on my G19. With the threaded muzzle protector on the G19 sits a bit too far back. If you try to put it in G17 mode the gun sits too far forward and won't rack properly. In G19 position the rear sight grinds on the inside top of the CAA frame. So far I have removed the threaded protector, which makes the gun fit and rack properly, once I removed the rear sight.

Interested to hear what others have to say, I sent a message to CAA but it has gone unanswered.
