Trudeau's Gun Ban and Buy Back

The way I see it, if they want them they will have to take them. I will give no resistance but I will not just hand them over wrapped in a pretty little bow. If they are going to rob me of my legally obtained possessions, then that's what it will be. Either they smash through the vault to get them, or force me to open up. Nothing more than an armed robbery, committed by good folks with badges just doing the jobs they are assigned.

Same here. The good thing after NZ is that now every gun owner in the world realizes that registration = confiscation. Their non-compliance is only possible due to the lack of registration. The gun grabbers don't even deny it any more - now they want a new gun registry in NZ for the reason of facilitating future gun seizures. It's a feature, not a bug. Say what you want about Harper but getting rid of the NR registry was a yuuuuge deal.

Ever been in a war zone, son?

Ever felt the distinct whizz of a bullet right past your ear, real close like?

Ever been in the Congo just minding your own business when a huge black man who can't speak English sticks an AK up your nose with his finger inside the trigger guard?

After awhile, nothing scares you anymore.... and yes, whether you realize it not, we are in a war.

Ever been in a war zone, son?

No I have not

Ever felt the distinct whizz of a bullet right past your ear, real close like?

No

No, and I'm sorry you had to experience that.

After awhile, nothing scares you anymore.... and yes, whether you realize it not, we are in a war.

I don't personally see how you ascertain that. I see it more as an attack against our ability to partake in a sport we love.

Just my 2cents

Can't say that I have, sir! Some people (not me, luckily) have lived through some serious s**t...and don't want to take any s**t any more. Like some American Iraq war veterans who I know; they'd be ready to die on this hill. And make fun of me for being too soft haha. But they are single and I have three young boys so it's a very different mindset. I can't leave them to fend for themselves, whether I'm in a shallow grave or in a jail cell.

It needs to be presented as such to the masses or else you're gonna scare them right into the anti gun agendas arms. .

At this point no one cares what the liberal soyboys think ! No self respecting gun owner will pander to them.

Bottom line is that the left (NDP/Libs/Greens) far outvoted the right (CPC/PPC).The NDP pulled many more votes from the libs than the PPC did from CPC.

The Conservative Party may have won the popular vote, but conservatives were far outvoted.

I think it's a little oversimplification to say Scheer did a great job. He didn't. He made some critical errors.

1. He spurned the Rebel,,,,most readers are his power base
2. He had David Menzies arrested at a CPC rally. I saw CPC votes go to PPC. Votes that could have won CPC seats.
3. He waffled on pro-gun side. He needs to woo the firearms owners without hesitation.
4. He didn't make himself different from Trudeau. Every time he made an announcement, the mean ladies from CBC would attack him and he backed down

He needs to get a spine, define how he is different from Trudeau, and stick with it.

Nobody likes a waffler.

On a side note, those who voted PPC probably lost CPC some seats. Although it may have made you feel good, it was a dumb move, plain and simple.

Hey guys. Instead of bickering let's focus on now what can we accomplish.

Ralph Goodale lost his seat. After 26 years of serving according to some fuzzy global news report.

That in itself is a huge victory. Vote against the gun community. Dont count on keeping your job.

We need to band together and find solutions.

I highly recommend our beloved moderators lock this thread and start a new more positive one.

- here's to hoping we still have hope.

Dude get your terminology right. Conservatives were not out voted, they just did not win as many seats in key ridings. Overall, sheer had 250k more votes than Trudeau, so its not like the turnout was not there.

... And it didn't matter. Remember there really wasn't a second right leaning party, so 2 out of 3 ridings went to left wing progressives.

Were the candidates weak, or was the platform just unimpressive? Which ideas just "won't fly" with mainstream Canadians? Change.

Canada is left leaning, especially in Ontario. There is no way around this fact. A change in policies to woo these voters would have the Conservatives become even more centrist than they are already criticized for

this guy hit it right on,no self respecting gun owner will EVER comply with Trudeau's horse#### bans, even if he did try it,,all he would get would some nice stripped lowers cut in half so they can't use it,everything else is unregulated and in the wind, after which, the Libtards go from knowing who owns what and where to AR's sporting new fresh boot leg lowers completely in the wind and unknown,so much for increased public security,LOL.i dont worry about it much,,the Turd wont have the balls to try anything now with a minority, and the bloc wont vote with him, anything to trigger another election and toss the Turd out,so the Turd may be PM,but his hands are tied behind his back, kind of like the last 4 years of his beloved corrupt OBOZO.

This sounds like it's from the movie Tropic Thunder or something. Lol.

What bothers me is all of the people screaming they'll shoot folks, etc. I've been seeing more of it than I care to.

People fail to realize that this could actually topple the liberal gov't played right.

Only one thing matters to politics, really, no matter the stripe and color: Cost.

When and if a buyback is announced, fight to drive up prices as far as possible.

Make it as non-palatable as possible to the people trying to get concessions from the liberals.

"Wait, your 250 million gun buyback would cost... 1 billion? WHAT BOUT THE ENVIRONMENT!"

Then polite non-compliance.

"Oh, I forgot to surrender it, just send the kind folks to come and get it."

Drive up the costs even more to get them. As the dollar figures go up, especially in a minority government, political will goes down.

it's threefold really.... but's all key on one thing:

1 - Keeping the 'hearts and minds' of Canadian Citizens.

All this blurr bla bla I'm a shoot LEO when they come for my AR-15 blee bloo blop does us *NO* favors.

We keep the hearts and minds of the rest of Canada and part of that is looking like what we are -- the most law abiding group of people in the country.

2 - Call the Libs on their #### with 'underestimated' costs of a buyback or confiscation program. Keep driving the costs up.

3 - Peaceful noncompliance if it comes to that to keep driving costs up *MORE*

None of this can happen without 1, and folks seem so quick to beak off and threaten and it does us not one favor.

We can win this pretty handily by beating them at their own game and possibly taking their gov't with it.

As soon as the average joe can pass us off as a 'eh, bunch of crazy loons' it's over.

Remember that.

Smartest thing i have read on this site..... I love shooting sports, my guns as well as my opportunity to own them in this country.

I have noticed many gun owners i run into are stupid conspiracy theorist morons. I had a guy try to defend himself after he told me a story about how the evil RCMP confiscated his guns because his kids sent a picture to his ex of them pointing his pistol at each other. These kids were 10 and 8. The ex called the cops when she received the pic and they took his guns.

Once i went to a unofficial "range" at a farm where we were to shoot our non restricted firearms there were about 10 people there. I left pretty soon after getting there because of how loose the whole range was, people literally shooting 5 to 6 ft behind the decided and marked firing line.

Then after years of staying off this site i come back to look for a optic for my recently purchased 110ba evolution and to look at the sales for AR10 variants and see just what you describe.
Its disgusting and its also not surprising giving the type of people that tend to flock towards sport shooting. I have accepted that i may lose a few of my guns and i blame many of the people within this community for that. Many of the people here are fools that open there mouths in public or online and only make us look worse.

If your not explicitly paid to advocate for gun rights and gun owners in Canada then shut your mouths. Do not comment instead donate to one of the gun rights groups in Canada.

In other new Trudeau just had the CBSA cancel 48,000 arrest warrants for people who have illegally crossed the border . The RCMP is too busy acting as bellhops to go look for them and Dawg The Bounty Hunter doesn't work for no bounty . They'll be voting in the next election for the guy who cancelled their arrest warrants along with the 350,000 per year that Trudeau is allowing to legally come . By the numbers over the last 4 years plus what's on the way there will be at least 500,000 new Liberals in 24 months when Trudeau will call the next election . His new immigration plan is to place newly arriving immigrants into rural communities and not have them just cluster in larger cities . This offloads the financial responsibility to these smaller communities but also radically changes the election demographics .

except those immigrants CAN'T VOTE anyways, not in 2 years anyways,

Bull####, did you listen to his “victory” speech? He specifically claimed “You are sending our Liberal team back to work; back to Ottawa with a clear mandate. We will make life more affordable. We will continue to fight climate change. We will get guns off our streets and we will keep investing in Canadians.” I’m guessing he doesn’t mean the guns of the criminal that was smuggled from Detroit that no one knows about, he means the guns that are registered to specific addresses in Canada. The man was caught influencing our judicial system and he was caught in blackface and he got away with it. Confiscating the “scary” property of a minority of Canadians? That’s nothing.

Exactly that, don't think for a minute that they aren't coming for our guns. No guns, no fight.

I felt some hatred towards immigrants here so I created an account just to post this.
Let me start with saying All Canadians except for Indigenous people are immigrants.
Secondly, I'm an immigrant, RPAL holder and a gun owner and 100% against any gun ban because it doesn't add to the security of Canadians.
In regards to the elections: Yes, most immigrants voted liberals, and righteously did so. Due to some of Harper's ideologies, most of these people are currently afraid what measures can be done by the conservatives against them and their presence/privileges.
Also, I noticed severe lack of awareness of gun laws in both the new immigrant population and the general population allowing Trudeau to lie to the people publicly about these laws. Hopefully, the CCFR can address some of these issues.
