speak for yourself not others.
Exactly...why does it seem like such a far reaching concept that people would not fight for their civil liberties? There is absolutely nothing wrong with drawing a line in the sand.

I agree that we don't have the God given or any given right to own guns the way they do in the US. But you do realize that your kind of thinking is what allows the government to overreach..it's "just" a hobby..
I suppose you "just" need a single shot bolt gun to work on your target hitting skills?
If more people accepted that firearms are tools and have many different uses, it would become more normalized and our numbers would grow. But for now, keep playing with your toys and be ready to hand them over when Big Brother says it's time!
It may sound farfetched to some, but I would rather be prepared than naive...

I disagree with you Tarrantula.
If the average canadian understood why we like guns as a hobby then they wouldn't be so against guns.
This whole god given right and against tyrannical government
do or die point of view only hurts the gun industry.

Regardless of any election outcome, if you have gone thru the required steps to own and acquire a restricted firearm you have every right to purchase a pistol if that's what you want.Well...considering the Liberals didn't get a majority or the popular vote, I still should get a pistol.

“ On Facebook, a group called “VoteWexit.com” surged in popularity, gaining tens of thousands of likes in a matter of hours.
At one point, the number of group members surged from 4,000 to 42,000 in 10 minutes, appearing to cause the group’s external website to crash. Many prospective Facebook members also complained that they could not access the Facebook page.”
So much Doom and Gloom on this forum. What are you guys complaining about? You didn't honestly think there would be a blue majority, did you? Of course there wouldn't be. But team Trudeau has been destabilized and you should be happy about that. The next couple of years is going to be all about the infighting between the Liberals the NDP the green and the block. They are not nearly as ideologically compatible as you think they are. Justin's in for a rough ride. And his handlers know that the gun issue has very little to do with Public Safety. It's going to fall by the wayside for things that are more important to that party. Plus, you can count on another election within a couple of years. The LPC is going to be an embattled for as long as they cling to the shreds of power they have. They've lost Ralph Goodale. They may lose a couple of other key people before this is all over. They are not going to get around to a major confiscation or buy back. They don't have the clout and, they also know they don't have the monetary resources.
I'm not saying we don't have anything to worry about, we should still be on our guard and be prepared to fight. We have litigation and other means to stand our ground. Right now I think our tactics should be making the LPC waste as much time on taking our guns away as they can. I, personally, have no problem refusing any confiscation order. I'm nearly retired, and I have dual citizenship with another country I can bugger off to if I please. I'm happy to go to court, but I don't think it's even going to come to that. They have bigger fish to fry now. There is no way a coalition is going to sign off on the half billion dollars it would likely take for an effective semi auto buyback.
AB and Sask might as well not even vote. Our votes don't matter, it's all about Ontario and Quebec. Always has been and always will be. Even when Harper was in he only paid a little bit more lip service to us than the libtards. It's about numbers and what it takes to get into power and stay there. Plain and simple. We don't have the numbers so we don't matter.

Wow! That is crazy! Especially considering how well (or should I say poorly) Freedom Conservative Party of Alberta did. I wonder what might happen now with this petition!

The way I see it, if they want them they will have to take them. I will give no resistance but I will not just hand them over wrapped in a pretty little bow. If they are going to rob me of my legally obtained possessions, then that's what it will be. Either they smash through the vault to get them, or force me to open up. Nothing more than an armed robbery, committed by good folks with badges just doing the jobs they are assigned.
Turdope coming in person, or will 5 RCMP die for every AR15 stolen from their legal owner?
Work for the man, die for the man.
