So where are we now?

What a excellent idea, let's keep this thread on track, back to the original points please and thank you.

Totally... Enough with the controversial subjects. So, how 'bout them Leafs?

Kidding. Kidding.

Depending on what happens in the next couple of weeks (i.e. Shiny Pony pushes C71 forward as a win and leaves it at that, adds on ARs, adds on all semis...), we need to start gearing up and acting like an organized community.

The NRA has the ILA, which goes to war every time their rights are threatened. We need legal and PR teeth, and those cost money. What are our options for the short and long term? How do we create a Canadian ILA?

I'm sick of being on the defensive. How do we go on the attack?

It IS on track. Until the PCC figures out that the canadian voters want a government that's definitively pro-choice, definitively pro-LGBTQ-rights and more-or-less covincingly says they're gonna reduce CO2 emissions, they're gonna repeal voters in urban and suburban ridings, to a point that makes them unelectable. Gaining another 1000 votes in a riding that you already won by 18k votes would work if governments were elected by popular vote, but that's not how it works.

As for guns themselves, they're almost an elecotral non-issue. Only a few hard-core gunnies care about guns on one side, and a few anti-gun care on the other. I'd say it's an important issue for about 2-3% of voters, and only about 20-25% of those people are really one-issue voters. It's really not what's tipping the scale one way or the other.

**opens safe** @_@

Just jokes.

We hone our existing tools and add our own version of what the NSSF in the USA did - starting three years ago.

Our "attack" then becomes one of an iron fist in a velvet glove instead of thinking that we can somehow club the government into submission. The more we hiss and posture the more they look ballsy to the public.

To prove how far off the political radar we in the gun community really are consider the names that are being tossed around for special advisors to JT to "heal the rift" with ABSK - Anne Mclellan and Ralph Goodale! Two of our worst enemies on the gun file.

I'm still laughing. It's like having your mother in law for a marriage counsellor.

Eventually this group will wake up and realize we're done if we don't change our ways and earn some respect on our own. This last round proved that all the effort we can place behind one political party goes out the window; so much for being in control of our destiny.

CANADA - A growing cultural divide between urban and rural citizens. An ideologically driven professional class versus the middle class who just want to be left alone.

A nation divided down the middle. One side is indoctrinated by climate terror and the other is fighting to pay their bills while employed by the technology, vocational, resource and energy sectors.

At what point do you decide that separatism is inevitable and that the Maple Leaf no longer equitably represents respect, fairness and individual freedom?

Our patriotism is being tested.

RC the divide is just as distinct in the urban environment. There are plenty of middle class guys like myself that just want to be able to enjoy our lives with out interference. Although now more than ever the idea of the west separating is more than a pipe dream. Why on earth can't the liberals see that?

Employing these people as "advisers" would be pure political patronage, nothing more, and would be quite evident. Mclellan aka "the debate is over" and Goodale, the guy who was voted out would be very very poor choices to appease the Western Canadian rift. But Trudeau has proved to be far from the smartest person in Canada so poor choices on his part is no surprise.

so Alberta and SK separate from the rest of Canada - still no-pipelines will be going through BC, ON and QC

wrong.
a sovereign alberta/west would likely be able to negotiate better both based on the sovereign rights the UN grants for transportation and passage of goods, also based on the "western" control of certain land and air rights.

But direct negotiation across the table with a single party. There would be $20B in the bank to use as desired. Alberta could dangle something shiny in front of them just like the feds do. Items to discuss would any additional economic items pertinent to the discussion with any of these provinces. Don't follow the mainstream media's statements on any of this. They are all federal Liberal owned (CBC) or are one of their puppet propaganda outlets (CTV/Global). "How or "Hard" or "Near Impossible" are better than the current situation or what's happened in the past. Everyone I know wants to separate. I have a hard time believing the low 30ish% being reported that want to separate by the puppet media outlets.

according to international law..... they absolutely would.

No, they wouldn't. If you think a country force another country to accept a pipeline going through its land (without actually using force), you must have been enjoying too much of that newly legal MJ. And if you look at a map of Canada and remove AB and SK, you can be 100% sure that no pro-oil government will EVER be elected.

I'm not a fan of jason kenney, I think he's an idiotic political pupper most of the time, but he was right when he called the wexit party a complete nonsense.

What's this thread about again?
I'm here to learn what'll happen to my ARs, not climate change or pipelines.
Can you guys discuss that somewhere else?

that seems to be the only thing of importance right now, some climate boogyman. gun grabs are the first step to tyranny.. see any communist country ever. only thing 'climate change' means is more taxes for everything that wont fix anything, just further reduce our quality of life. if yall wanna fix climate change, drop a bomb on china or india. they pollute 1000 times more than us...

I can guarantee you the Liberals would be following through on the promise of confiscation/prohibiting of our AR/semi-auto firearm ownership in a few weeks as promised in their election platform. The things being discussed and the western provinces dissent "may" slow down or stop that election babble. The issues are all connected.
