The 760/7600 Club

it may be rebore as i like the barrel and the sights on it.

You'd be better off getting a 760 in 30-06 cut back to 20" and re-bored. It's a better bbl length then the carbine and a lot cheaper rifle to obtain then the 35Whelen Carbine.

Flog the 35W on the EE to pay for the project.

Paul,

you re right and we had that discussion in the past.

but there is a but: stock of the carbine i have is made for left and right hand shooters and i do like the package. so far did not see a 760 like that.

Any idea of value on a minty 7600 35 Whelen carbine?

I bought a new one of EE for $900 a few years back. I paid $900 as it was unfired (apparently). It was synthetic version and I put a 2-7x Ziess Terra on it. I could never get that gun to shoot under 4 inch groups at 100 yards. I wanted it to shoot so bad but after at least 250 rounds of handholds, I gave up and traded it off. There is still a lot of interest in this gun in the 35 Whelen caliber as I got about $750 value on trade from my local gun store. I still own 2 Whelen's so I felt I was ok to part with the 7600.

I'm getting old and forgetful. At least I'm consistent. :)

I'd shoot it as-is. The money you spend on the re-bore could go toward some 35Whelen loading kit. It's not slouch compared to the 9.3.

The .35 Whelen has a .350 bore/.358 groove. The 9.3x62 has a .358 bore/.366 groove. I'm not a barrel maker, but I know that's not much metal to work with, if even possible...

.30-06 to 9.3x62 no problem...

I am a bit confused here
Six total walnut stocked 35W carbines made it to canada and when the odd one came up in the EE they sold used for 1200 plus and sold immediately
What happened??
Cheers

I've been wrong before. If I can get $1200 for a 35Whelen Carbine, I'd sell every one I could. :)

Wood stock now 7600 and carbine not the syn ones
Only 6 made it to canada EVER
You don't remember all the conversations we had on this in the past and the 6 epps got in by mistake and they were deemed collectors here immediately
All six we found owned by members here and two were NIB still
You chimed in then also ??
Cheers

This doesn’t seem correct I had two at the same time, one with iron’s the other scoped. Decided I didn’t like the platform and sold them both, I posted them for about 750.00 and they took a while to sell.
