Ducks Unlimited vs angry gunowners

I'm so disappointed in Canadian gun enthusiasts not discerning who is friend or foe. A conservation organization does not need to fight the gun fight. The gun fight is something else. Enjoy the outdoors and waterfowl whether or not you are a hunter or gun owner. Please take the the gun ban people to task. That is a good fight. But refusing to support a conservation organization? Vey foolish. Being angry at everybody who doesn't exactly see things your way is futile and counterproductive. In the end you'll be all alone, talking to yourself and angry at everybody who isn't you. Sad that it has come to this.

How long did it take for OFAH to realize that an attack on gun owners was an indirect attack on them? OFAH is now a conservation group on the side of gun owners.

Hunters/gun owners pay for conservation.

Exactly....there are a lot of mixed messages about this.

No there is not...

As a committed conservationist he has supported several conservation groups over the years. He currently holds the volunteer position of President of Ducks Unlimited Canada. His term ends in June of 2017.

He was appointed as a member while president of DU

Are we suggesting he gets on the committee if he doesnt have that position and that the liberals arent using DU because they know full well its supported by shooters and want to give the illusion of a say...

Or are we saying the liberals had legitimate consultation for gun owners?... now that would be funny...

Considering DUs stance I would imagine Jim likely doesnt consider semis a hill to die on... maybe he has 4 ARs and I'm way off...

It's one thing to be a conservation organization (admirable) but it's quite another to fly the false flag claiming a stakeholder position on a national firearms advisory committee (not admirable) when in actual fact private ownership of legal firearms are not your real primary concern.

Free up that seat for someone else instead.

Yesterday when they were being asked, they were saying they didn't advocate for hunting either. If they want to be a conservation group only, no problem. But then they shouldn't portray themselves as a hunting/conservation group.

Someone needs to start a gun owners group. One that represents guns owners. Not ducks and lilly pads.
Oh right. We have a few already. Nevermind lets kick the #### out of some ducks anyways. I didn't come here for fun. I need to be a part of some movement! Winning!!:bsFlag::bsFlag:

If they don't support me owning my semi Ithica Mag 10 Roadblocker i'll blast their ducks . I'll blast 'em so bad they'll have to change their name to Ducks Limited . I got at least 30 boxes of 3.5 inch 10 gauge 000 buck so the opening of duck season is going to be like Pearl Harbour . Get some .:ar15:

Single dumbest post I’ve witnessed in years. Impressive.

You mean people don't like charities being used as their voice on a firearms committee while saying they have no voice and don't represent us? Colored me shocked on this one.

Ducks Unlimited has done more than any, or all of us in this thread, ever will for hunting. It is not a gun organisation, it’s a conservation organization. What they’re doing here is akin to opting out of taking a position or discussing politics at a dinner party.

Ill advised in this case? Probably. They’re likely in a position they can no longer have no position, as others have said. But it doesn’t change Ducks Unlimited does more good than utterly everyone hating on them for not focusing on guns rather than conservation.

They are actively taking a position against us no matter how much they say they are neutral. In 2017 their Sask CEO took the position offered to him by the liberals to be the fake consultation of hunters on that firearms committee. He didn't gain it because he's a hunter or a curler. He got it because he's the CEO of Ducks unlimited Sask. And in return for being that fake consultation, the good optics for the liberals, they've been given millions of dollars for their cause. More so then they earn by grass roots efforts. What happens when they realize all they need to do is follow along with the liberal plan and play along with it being a willful proponent of it to raise the organizations coffers? Most likely shift to a purely conservation organization that works solely on untouched wetlands and abandon the hunters all together as more gun control is handed down.

I worry that as president of DU and invited to the dinner party, Mr Couch legitimizes the banning of semi autos either explicitly or implicitly through his presence.

It's a government appointed position. Not a dinner invitation for donations... hmmm... or is it...

In this particular case, gun owners having no downwards pressure on them for unrealistic and impending bans typically are very supportive of organizations like DU.

Certainly the conservation efforts can stand on their own merit?

So. They use guns to thier financial betterment yet when the person they raffle it off to needs political support its"what guns?? I don't see any guns"

That's hypocracy.

Neutral from a conservation group on an e-petition isn't anti-gun.

I love how we basically have become social justice warriors here, despite most reviling that behaviour. And to quote someone many here also revile, “People who do really good things have flaws.”

It also stands for organizations, overall, Ducks Unlimited is an enormously beneficial organization. But the short sighted won’t see past them trying to remain neutral on a semi auto gun question.

Neutral from a conservation group on an e-petition isn't anti-gun.

Exactly. But many here lack the ability to consider multiple issues.
