ONT New restricted transfer wait times??

March 20-24, 2020 transfer initiated by store.

Contacted CFO via email yesterday, received the below response today.

"We are currently working on transfers that were started Mar 15th. Waiting to be completed are 6094 transfers with extremely limited staff. It will be a while yet".

By the time its approved handguns might be banned :-(

I've two restricted purchases from an ON-ON via a dealer. First March 17th, second April 2nd. No word on either yet.

I'm also a first time buyer, so I'm concerned their lack of printing new cards may be an issue for me (I need the updated RPAL that shows I have active inventory & with updated conditions). I haven't heard anyone saying this is a problem, so hopefully it isn't....?

Thats funny, I contacted them on the 23rd and I got almost the same message word for word:
"We are currently working on transfers that were started Mar 15th. Waiting to be completed are 5654 transfers with extremely limited staff. Your first transfer was dated Mar 19th, it may be a while yet."

Seeing as though 6 days passed since my inquiry and yours, and they still havent completed the Mar 15th transfers, at this pace we are talking Christmas before they get through all of them.

Especially since the numbers of unprocessed transfers is going up as time goes by and not down. The system was broken and is now a complete write off.

Just grabbed a $99 anderson lower from bullseye london 5 minutes ago for the heck of it, lets see how that one takes starting today.. oh boy.

I just received my transfer notice this afternoon for my March 17th purchase (from an Alberta supplier).

I too jumped on the $99 Anderson Lower from Bullseye London this morning - lets see if this one takes more than 6 weeks...

So if they can only do pistols now, shouldn’t that speed things up? Too soon?

No sir, I would imagine it takes longer to deny a transfer than to approve one.

Now they have to cross reference a list of banned firearms after making sure any potential new owner possessed a license to have said firearm, then they have to type up a letter informing them of denial, then sending a separate one to the current owner as to way the sale can’t go through.

And yes....too soon
