For Immediate Release! CSAAA- Shotgun ban!!

Ya, he did.

Ask him if that's legal advice lol

Blair's "Intent" has nothing to do with what's prescribed in the order in council.

The only thing that matters is the letter of the law and it clearly states that any firearm with a bore diameter 20mm and larger is a prohibited device.

12 gauge is less than 20mm!!!

Doesn't matter if 99% of the bore is under 20mm, if the last 1% is 20mm or over you are now by law in posession of a prohibited device. The bore diameter is measured as the largest diameter forward of the chamber.. the threaded portion of the barrel that accepts various chokes is larger than 20mm - it is considered part of the barrel bore, therefore making the shotgun a prohibited device.

Fixed

Sure, who's to say your 12gauge shotgun wasn't originally built with a cylinder bore under 20mm ...though "technically" it's illegal to alter a prohibited firearm...but that's getting in the weeds.

Ultimately, as the OIC is written hunters are relegated to duck and turkey hunting with their cylinder bore 12gauge shotguns lol

Many shotguns have interchangeable barrels and there's nothing illegal about that.

The shotgun fiasco is the only silver lining in the OIC, as it hopefully will get the Fudds off their asses and the lib voting portion of the gun community to support a candidate that will repeal this travesty if elected.

I agree but going forward anything but a cylinder bore and perhaps rifled bore on your 12gauge will be prohib.

I'm sure Bliar and company had an "oh sh*t" moment today as they realized the carefully crafted plan of dividing the gun community just blew up in their face.

The reactions from the Fudds at work when I handed out copies of the CSAAA letters were something to see!

Gunsmith labour, plus perhaps a barrel plus custom chokes...people are gonna be thrilled with the prices !

Yeah, wouldn't be able to use an existing threaded barrel because there wouldn't be enough material left to thread so a new barrel would be needed.
Only hope would be that Canadian retailer would begin manufacturing thread protector sleeves for the external threads as well as custom canadian made chokes.
If it took off, and there was enough production and enough of a market then maybe prices could be reduced and it could eventually become a viable option.

I don't know guys, but I bought my first 10/22 about 30 years ago. You could pick up a high capacity mag anywhere. Until someone in the lab (who I am sure consulted in this matter) woke up one morning and decided they were prohibited devices. How has that been working for you!

I can see Blair and Truedeau smoking there Cuban cigars in about 2 years time... "Can't believe...ahh..ahh..they didn't see us coming"

Time to put our foot down. Better to stomp the fire out before it's out of control.

As a smart man said "Do you feel lucky"

I can't believe that some on here are willing to take Blair at his word. I wouldn't believe him if he told me water was wet. Assume he has the worst intentions for us and act accordingly.

My email to my local conservative MP:

Greetings _____,

My name is _____ and I'm the owner of (Gun Website). I was born and raised in Nova Scotia.

I'm reaching out to query your interest in, and potential support of the development of a website intended to coordinate peaceful public protests and demonstrations opposing the recent amendments to the Firearms Act. We have an enormous online community outraged by recent events and would like to make our voices heard. A large number of practical hunting rifles were mistakenly banned by the recent OIC - as I'm sure you're aware. Including but not limited to, all 12 gauge and 10 gauge shotguns. Firearms used and manufactured almost exclusively for hunting and sport.

If this is something you would like to work with me on, please reply with some times we can schedule a call, or grab a coffee (When and where quarantine rules permit)

I have already gone ahead and purchased canadiangunrights.ca to secure the domain

My message to the gentleman who began the Change website petition with over 200k signatures:

I will be taking this to Sheer or his successor by proxy of MPs. Quarantine is not an excuse to stoop to being a keyboard warrior. We will plan to take objective, public action while in quarantine.

A Canadian's rights should be irrevocable.

I'm not on here often but please feel free to message me.

I won't believe anything the RCMP says on this until they post it on Twitter. Then we'll know they're serious.

Blair already posted on Twitter then the 12g and 10h are safe... so his Twitter comments can be used in court when you break the law. And he got bashed bad.

Im pretty sure that Bill Blair released a statement that the ban does not include 12 and 10 gauge shotguns and guns used for hunting will not be banned. I
hope this is not fake news.

Not Intended. No. But he ####ed up. His comments on tv does not change the law. They will have to retract and reissue the oic with different wording.

Which In the end makes no diff to us. It’ll be fast enough no one will be out buying new stuff in between. But it’s funny. And shows the public that lots of mistakes happen in rushed laws.

I highly doubt any rcmp or co is going to arrest you tomorrow with a duck gun. As common sense will prevail. They will stand there and laugh with you about it.

This. People will dismiss it based on what he said, not what is written in the law. Imagine if laws were based off promises made by politicians
