Particularly great guns, can’t compete with them at the price point in my mind, have a 6.5 Grendel / 7.62x39 switch barrel rig.
527 in 7.62×39 it’s a beautiful handy rifle and shot deer with it under 200 yards with zero difficulty. Using good ammo is paramount. People who shoot cheap lacquered ammo have problems extracting. A great rifle.
What sort of setup do you use to switch the barrels?
I heard that, but then tried it with mine, with multiple types of surplus and lacquered steel cased ammo from the cheapest to Hornady. None of it gave me a single hang up or sticky extraction.
I did get one light strike, and failure to fire with surplus, suspect it was operator error shooting cheap junk ammo fast and not getting the bolt all the way flush and absorbing some of the strike. Wasn’t enough to set off the hard primer.

Just a barrel vice and action wrench, but a strap wrench will do it too. This is it as a scout scoped 7.62.

I've decided I would like one of these in .223 and would like to hear from those of you that have one. Ideally I would put a NECG peep on it.
Thoughts?
And I have been looking everywhere for one with no luck ☹
I say buy savage axis 223 instead if you can't find cz527
That’s a sad thought. Like going from a BMW to a Hyundai. Both will admittedly take your where you need to go.
Doesn’t sound like your fault the bolt in particular, should be issue free, all mine have been. If still in warranty I’d send it in.
Curious, you’re not shooting 60gr+? Wondering if you have the 1:12 twist matched with heavy bullets, sounds like it’s just a lemon though.
I've tried 62 and 65 gr, as well as 75 and I think I even made up 20 80's. It was someone else that suggested trying 35's or 40s, but yeah, might look at handing it in to be checked over, any idea who does CZ warranty in Canada?
I have a Cz 527 in 17 REM retail is $1299
i think its overpriced for what you get.
Tikka has them beat by a long shot.
