The press will report, not on the fact that military grade weapons are already prohibited in Canada, but on the controversy raging on twitter and message boards about shotguns. The Liberals will make a big show of clarifying that they never had any intention of going after Uncle Joe's bird gun and that all they are banning are HORRIBLE KILLING MACHINES. End of story. You succeed in stopping only the controversy you yourself started, and the Liberal's OIC sails through untouched. Those on here trying to stir up shotguns owners are shooting themselves in the foot (pun intended)
4. No strategy that has as it's foundation a "black rifles are no more dangerous than hunting rifles" or a "you can't define black rifles without including a bunch of shotguns and gopher guns" approach will ever reverse this OIC. To do that, you need to show that it's purpose (that being to get military grade rifles off Canadian streets) has been a reality since they were prohibited - which they already are. The actual Act of Parliament under which they were prohibited does a better job of controlling them than this hastily written OIC. Why do we need the OIC, except for virtue signaling for the Lieberals.
5. Want a strategy that will actually work? Buy a Liberal Party membership. As party members, demand a leadership review. Vote for a blue liberal for the next leader. Donate cash to the CPC like your guns depend on it because they do.

Most important of all, stop posting threads like this. Do you think the Lieberal cabinet posts their ideas ahead of time?

In this post you have summed up EXACTLY how I feel and nailed the issues 100%. I was just too frustrated to put it into text. The rabid hysteria this is rising to is causing damage to the cause. Everyone reading this should take a few minutes and read comments posted OUTSIDE of gun forums about this. Most people seem to think this "little tantrum" over shotguns is hilarious.

Any fudds and I hate using that word that I have spoken to that were on the fence just fell off after reading all the joy some have here in thinking shotguns have been added and now they will bleed like the rest and it looks good on them. Best get ready for a huge toss under the bus on any future issues like the handguns

Freedom loving gun owner demands censorship and authoritarian language police powers used to suppress nonsense and dissent. Next at 6.

The whole purpose of free speech is not to let stupid people stay stupid things, but for intelligent people to publicly correct them so that the uninformed public can get exposure to the testing of ideas and exploration of truth. When you suppress speech through censorship, all you are doing is forcing stupid people to stay stupid things in places where it will go unchallenged, and accepted as fact, in very much the same way that prohibiting firearms simply drives the criminal wrong doing under ground.

Lock the thread if needed. There are a hundred other threads on this already. But leave it up so people can see all of the rebuttals to the nonsense.

Why are you so vocal with your opinions if you can’t handle disagreement? Nobody is forcing you to subject yourself to such stress.
And you still assume I care about how to measure a shotgun bore. You have problems. And way too much time on your hands too.

Well considering it snowed here again last night :( and I cannot do what I should be planting 30,000 plants. yep I have some time on my hands

Tell me about the clear technical requirements in the language of the safe storage laws, and I'll show you how the courts have regularly twisted that "clear" language against gun owners. You seem to operate on the misguided belief that the anti gun forces (and I included our justice system in that group) will act in a fair and reasonable manner. Yet there is no evidence of them doing that. We all know that measuring the bore where the chokes tubes are supposed to be is stupid, but there is no clear verbiage in the OIC that defines exactly where the bore is to be measured. And despite what some would say, tweets aren't law.

Remember a few years back when Trudeau explicitly said he would not be taking anyone's guns away? Remember when Trudeau said he admired the Chinese GOVERNMENT because they can turn on a dime and just get things done? Remember how Bill Blair, as police chief, managed Canadians' civil rights as Toronto chief of police during the G20 conference. You trust these people?????

SAAMI is not a governing body in Canadian law.
CBSA does have some measure of authority, and they have news for you.
 
People probably don't realize, Australia banned pumps pretty quickly, and then when manufacturers started making kever shotguns to get around that, they were gone too. Pump and lever actions . Based on how fast things are happening, won't be long before we were wishing it was removable chokes we were worried about.

Well on the storage considering I am one of the few here it seems that has even had an official inspection and TWICE and I just followed what was written and passed TWICE I am sorry but don't understand on the twisting you seem to know about. Guess what I have never had an experience where they didnot act in a fair and reasonable matter. Plus I worked in my dad's gun shop for years and again cannot recall CFO or rcmp not acting reasonable with customers when their was issues
In fact on my second inspection I had a 1000 fps pellet gun behind the door in the porch shooting rats and the CFO said if that model required a pal can you make sure you place a trigger lock on it when out and not being used
Tell me he wasn't fair, I could have been charged. I have no time for your hearsay . Unless you can share a time when YOU were treated unfairly or charged for unsafe storage I have no more time for this and NO I am not a liberal supporter before you try that one. By the way there is no party or politician I have ever trusted since they are all lizards IMO just different colors

Well I guess you just have no idea how lucky you are, you clearly broke a major rule and it could have ruined your life. I would say that officer was being more than fair and reasonable.

Well like I said that CFO for sure IMO was quite fair. It was no more than a honest mistake and it's lock was on the shelf
Then again when you see over 100 guns all trigger locked ( which he did prior) some in vaults others double locked with locked slide bars in converted lockers he knew I was doing my best to follow or exceed the requirements

Just to add all prohibs and restricted in liberty vaults all non restricted long guns in modified high school lockers as shown. Every gun also trigger locked. All powder and primers stored out of house in for lack of a better word wooden powder shed
They had no issues with my storage
