I'd rather it dewatted, than 6 ft. under. At least I can fondle and polish it at my convenience, without resorting to manual labour, to dig it up.![]()
Some prefer functional rifles

Fun fact.
It’s not just the XCR and AR’s that use AR mags.
Fun fact. Name me one other platform that has a pistol version commonly available in Canada...which is the criteria for the 10-round mags being defined as legal.
I think the SU 16 pistol pointed out earlier fits the bill ? not sure tho
I haven't been able to find a record of this gun being available in Canada.
But if it is, I haven't been able to find a single Su16 Pistol-specific 10-round mag for it.

The SU16 has been around for years- was actually my first ever purchased firearm many moons ago. It uses standard STANAG AR15 mags. There is a pistol version of the SU16, but the same thing- AR15 mags.
^ because AR-15's are the only thing that accepts stanag mags in this country...
Your like the guy ranting about how people shouldnt be able to sell pecans, ar15 mags and magpul accessories because "most" are used for AR15's
Ban bullets...
I know about the SU16....just not the pistol version.
But that is still beaides the point.
The LAR and XCR 10-round mags exist and are identified for use for the LAR amd XCR pistols....no such thing as a SU16 pistol mag properly marked that way, that i know of.
Because the PAR uses AR mags.
If the PAR added ONE thing that could differentiate the mags, like ar mags wont fit etc- you'd be golden. Unfortunately it uses standard AR mags- says so right in the ads. Standard ar mags at 5 rounds.

Can you point me to the regulation that mentions mag standards? I've looked and looked and can't find it. Doesn't the LAR use AR mags? Why do you differentiate between AR mags designed for the LAR and AR mags designed for rifles but AR mags designed for a pump are just AR standard and must be pinned to 5?

I’ll see if I can find the letter sent to Questar in relation to the LAR 15 and the pistol mags. They submitted the LAR 15 pistol with the LAR 15 pistol magazine and supporting documents. The RCMP actually ruled the LaR 15 pistol mags were designed specifically for the LAR 15 pistol, and were not AR rifle mags.
The ruling was that LAR mags are physically different from AR rifle mags - no rifle comes with a magazine of that overall length. This is why, despite all claims to the contrary, the 10/30's are actually not LAR pistol mags, despite what they silk screened on the side - I don't need to hear from those of you who loved their 10/30 "pistol" mags, you got away with it and that's great, but the lab would have barbecued your *ss in court over that if anyone had bothered to charge you. Currently there are no AR pistols "commonly available" in Canada, so per the regs.....
Thanks for posting that, I think you proved my point, you couldn't find it there either.
The Troy is not a handgun, so the "commonly available" clause is irrelevant.
Edit: But, yes, you're right, according to the topic LAR mags will now need to be pinned to 5.![]()
