I too disliked some things JR did before this event but guess what, when we are low on allies we dont have the luxury of arguing amongst ourselves any more; anyone who is fighting to reverse this "king like" parliamentary decree will get my support regardless of mistakes made in the past. We need to unite as a common team to defeat the tyrants in power.

Nope. I’ll never respect anyone who does the #### JR does.
The 858 / Swiss arms prohibition was his fault.
Now a BS copy of another companies work. Couldn’t even bother to change up the look to make out his own.
I will smile the day that store closes for good!
And I wouldn’t give him a penny for “ his “ fight. That money will likely just line his pockets!

Firstly, why for a second do you think I had absolutely anything to do with the CZ858 banning? I will take my lumps when I deserve them... but do not paint me with a brush I did not wet.

Secondly, the Swiss Arms debacle was not "just my fault" but I acknowledged my part publicly and fully almost 8 years ago. Hate all you want, but mistakes were made and not repeated.

Thridly; I have not just one, but 2 unique firearms in with the RCMP that have been sitting in the lab waiting for an FRT. The system is ####ed.... there is no law or rule where you need it, the rcmp treat us with disdane in regards to getting one, their findings are completely arbitrary but they use the frt list to prosecute and persecute us. We live and die by that list, which apparently they can change at will.

So what if I copied the ATRS rifle? This was a hail mary attempt to get something to market for a number of reasons. Rick's was the obvious choice and I know a couple others were doing the same, but I was just faster. Given Rick's production is spoken for, for the concievable future, I did not see any impact to him in the slightest. Plus, I had serious discussions with him about licensing the design. He wasn't interested, nor hostile.

Hate me all you want, but base it on facts, not your emotions like I am doing something nefarious here.

I personally thought And hoped I would sell at least one... just one, as that secures the commercialization aspect of this project.

There are also some very sound legal principles at play here as well. I am not moving without very sound advice from a number of lawyers in various camps ;-) which in the long run, may help us all.

Don't buy it.... not asking you to. I bet by the time I get into the office and check the rcmp database, I will find that it is prohibited and have to stop selling it. But until the FRT is changed where I can see it, unless I moved to China, we still like in a democracy...

JR, just something to ponder:

Since these are made by a different manufacturer are they technically a different firearm. These have no FRT number so are they banned under the current circumstances? They aren't specifically named in the OIC so they aren't banned by name. They don't have an FRT number/report so there's no way for "them" to arbitrarily change a non existent FRT report to suit their agenda. How can they "ban" this particular firearm without further legislation or oic naming it specifically?

Probably be seen a "variant" of a banned firearm but... without any government records of this specific "variant" how can they ban this specific "variant" just by rewriting an FRT report like they are doing with makes/models that are already in the system?

I know this is walking a very fine line but...

What's with these clueless people digging up 8 year old issues? THE SWISS ARMS nonsense WAS FIXED by the HARPER Government! People need to shut up, move along, realize JR's gun business is a huge asset, and understand the only way to fix this is to vote in another Conservative majority.

Jiffx, that's actually an extremely good point.

Thanks. I'm just trying to figure a way for him to be able to continue selling his make/model until "they" figure out a way to put his make/model in the system and ban it.

How are they going to name the make/model he is selling "prohib" without any government records or documentation to fudge?

In my (maybe not so intelligent opinion?) it's going to require a new OIC that names it or new legislation that names it.

Once again I know this is a very fine line to be walking for the guy selling and the guy buying.

These are already prohibited, this is not an independently licensed receiver, it’s using the Modern Sporter FRT.

Its not a modern sporter, it's based on it but since when does that immediately make it the same gun. And don't go trying to apply logic to their system, there is none, and its time we start using that to OUR advantage. This gun was not mentioned in the OIC and meets all criteria for NR as per the firearms act. Good enough for me im not going to do their job for them and neither should you.

That's exactly what I'm thinking. This gun was not manufactured by ATRS. The gun doesn't say ATRS or Modern Sporter on the receiver. This gun has no FRT report readily available for "them" to arbitrarily fudge.

The Coyote said it was an SLR right on the receiver. See the difference?
