Update On Ontario Restricted Transfer Times

Transfer initiated April 27th, private purchase from Alberta to Ontario... still waiting to hear back from the CFO. This is ridiculous. I really hope they have to answer for these outrageous delays at some point and be held accountable.

I would call to see what the holdup is. They're approving transfers from the middle of May so yours should have been done.

Apparently the CFO is fully staffed as of today and the backlog should be cleared up in "short order" (her wxact words). First time they've been fully staffed since March.

I celebrated the news by buying another pistol...;)

We had a few phrases when I was in the service like "Sure the cheques in the mail" or "I from the government I'm here to help"
I'll believe the "cleared up in short order" only upon receipt of transfer documents before Mid September based on purchasing a Pistol on Jul 04.

The fact she (manager of licensing and transfers) made that statement to the media knowing how upset people probably and setting herself up for.more backlash.. ..I think I'll take her word for it....they're tired of hearing from us as much as we're tired of waiting.....but hey, feel free to "stew" with your September thing if that works for ya.

I got a response from my MPP. As predicted, the CFO blamed everything on covid even though I specifically mentioned:

- Transfers were taking extremely long before covid
- The work required to complete transfers could easily be done from home
- Other provinces were completing transfers in 24 hours during the peak of covid

Just got off the phone with the Ontario CFO. They said that they're now fully staffed and working on the backlog. They're currently working on the second week of June and told me that my June 26 transfer would be done by next week for sure. Great news!

Well, that’s interesting. It’s still crickets for my June 1 transfer.
