Rob

hah a hey Rob, sometimes i think WTF have i been doin.... but then i stop an look back an look at the things i did do an go,... yeh... im right, its ok, getting it done, alternatively to the norm i spose!

with the Covid crap been goin on in Victoria (some of the worlds strictest rules) its been difficult, i actually worked for the first wave but once the Govt was handing out money due to a pandemic... i was on it.

ive used the time to attempt to set up some Taxidermy heads and for a future to do some Local Deer heads when they return from massive bush fire culling and govt culling this month.

the worlds been turned upside down a bit since Fires and the whole Anti deer Govt, my future of Guiding international clients may of been burnt to the ground and not only the locals with a lack of deer and trophies , i cant see many heads being taxidermied anytime soon.

so i guess my time is running out, i'll head off to get some Work soon over the Summer time, my grass allergies flair up soon and im unable to be in the field for a few weeks / months !

Cheers Rob, let yas know!

this big rig is liking re25 an 162 eldx combo at present
thanks all for the help settin her up to get close to that 3000 fps with a 160gr

Even in 24" barrelled 7mm Rem Mags, I have always been able to exceed 3000 fps safely with a 160 grain bullet.
My present 7 mag, [an early production M700] graphs 3060 avg with the 160 Accubond, and 3077 avg with the
160 Partition. 168 LRAB is good for 3080, using Reloder 25. Dave.

Thats soem good numbers Dave,
tell ya what my issues goin to be from here on in.... Sourcing Alliant RE25.......
i got this pound out of Melbourne! The locals dont carry it? but have RE26.. sch is life down under, They wont Ship powder in the post either here.

may have to do bulk buy on the 25 stuff, as i cannot be fked messing around developing a load for ADI just now...

Do you think its possible to over pressure a 7mm Rem by stocking in RE25 powder to the case?

71gr is gettin fairly full in the case,

I’ve had better luck with RL26 than with RL25 - is that any easier for you to find?

possibly mate- however to throw a spanner in it all, i got onto AR2217~ H1000 to you guys.

will see how this accuracy goes in higher velocity node and seeeeee!
report back- Even ADI is limitied LOL

Never had luck with H1000 in the 7 - worked great in .300 WM though. If you bought enough H1000 you may need to consider buying a .300 WM. Would be a shame g fb or the powder to go to waste. :)

HHAHA NO chance!!

only 500gr, so not worth the hassle resighting a 300 wm in ;)

Is the RELOADER 22 going to be suitable for 140-160 gr projies ?

would normally use ADI, but may have a switcheroo ?

cool thing with ADI is ya can sort of tailor the recoil to it, some powders burn fast n hard, an some slower, thus givin a different feeling on the end , i find.

looks like AR2225 and AR2213sc works my end. i will look up availibility of Alliant powders

Does Nick Harvey still publish a loading manual there? I have a copy from 1993. There is a fair bit of ADI data for the 7 mag, but no information on pressure, accuracy, or even seating depth, just powder charge and the resulting velocity from a 24" barrel.

These are his ADI loads that produce the highest velocities . . .
140 gr
AR 2225 - 71.0 grs - 2955 fps to 75.0 grs - 3110 fps
150 gr
AR2217 - 66.0 grs - 2800 fps to 68.5 grs - 2920 fps
160 gr
AR2225 - 65.0 grs - 2755 fps to 69.5 grs - 2915 fps

ADI's 2004 manual provides similar data, but lists AR 2225 with greater velocity for the 150 gr with the max load of 72.5 grs producing 2998 fps. They (ADI) show a max load of 66.0 grs of AR2213SC with a 130 gr bullet for 3051 fps. I have in my notes that AR2213 was discontinued, but perhaps it was just replaced with the short cut version. I believe that AR2225 is marketed by Hodgdon as Retumbo and AR22217 as H-1000.
