Ah the sks, They’re pigs, at home in the mud, and eats anything you feed them, I’m quite found of them!
My favourite beater will hit the target every time if I do my part, and will keep running. super easy to maintain which if you were in the field would be a blessing, puts a decent round out to 200 yards effectively and quickly repeatedly, and quick to reload with chargers, only downfall to the platform is magazine capacity, (and short stock) but for the time when it came out as a battle rifle it was pretty on par with other semi autos and a hell of a lot better then any bolt action capacity. People are always comparing them to modern rifles (which it still isn’t a slouch) instead of looking at it at the time it was designed, any soldier would have gladly had the increased capacity and quick follow up shots instead of a mosin or equivalent bolt action if the war would have carried on and it made a showing it would have performed well. It fits its intended purpose well especially for the quickly trained peasant army it was made to equip, that’s all I have to say, oh and nice rifle op if it was mine it’d look to well used by now....
