What gun? What distance? Did you chrono? I’m thinking this must be super slow. My Tikka measured 2650 fps with 43gn D4895 under a 150, which I though was quite slow...

Yep, thanks. I just picked up six 5 pounders of the D4064SSC off the EE. So with the 10 pounds I have, I will have 40 pounds to last me until late next year. And I can ration the last 10 pounds of Varget I have left.

Got the 5lb jug, but when I put it on a scale, it measured around 4lbs including the jug.
Is that normal?

I don't want to be that guy who's counting pennies, but 1lb or even 0.5lbs still a lot of grains.

Also the jug has no seal (though no sights of a seal being placed, or removed either).

Have you metered d40664ssc in a uniflow? varget works fair enough in the uniflow =/- .5 grain.
Currently using D4895 it 'chops' alot so I have to measure it out on a scale.... would like to find a 308 powder from dominion that runs in a uniflow smooth
 
4064ssc is cut smaller and meters better compared to d4895. Still the d4895 is good enough for me, as I trickle up and weigh every charge anyways
 
So uh I emailed like 3 days ago and emailed again yesterday and no reply to your cs@canadaammo.com email.

I would just like to know if the canisters ship with a seal on the opening - or if they are just a single cap.

If anyone could let me know how theirs came, it would really put my mind at ease.

Mine came single cap, no seal.

Mine came with just a cap, no seal.
 
None of the 5lb jugs Ive ordered over the last few years have had any seal, just the cap. Never actually wieghed them to see if they were 5lbs of powder, 2 had visually less powder in them. Would be nice if they were weighed (verified) before shipping to ease ones mind.

That being said I need more, 4198 and 4064!! Ive used the 8208 and 4895 as well. All great canadian powders for the price.
