Type 81, market futures

what i failed to see is who made you the "moral" police? and whos to say the "fools" (you called them) wont sell it at a higher price next year?

What a puerile argument.

Flippers, like scalpers or pay day lenders, are still scummy. Legality does not infer morality. People are right to look down on them and avoid such practices.

If you feel like paying $2000+ for a 6 MOA rifle that sort of looks like an AK, have at it. Just don't complain when you go to buy ammo, only to find that the fat p.o.s. in front of you has bought up 20 crates of it, only to sell at a gunshow at huge mark ups.

6 moa? lol. if you say so... ok, lets move along.

I believe people who say that their t81 are awesome, I also believe that majority of them are just fine, and some are bent lemons.

For me it just a reinforcement of my belief of how inconsistent the chinese QC is. On everything, not only t81.

May be some of them are 2MOA, and superbly finished. But some of them are bent and can't hit the side of the barn at 200m.

Mine was fine finish wise. Straight too. But it was a 6 MOA rifle. I even shot targets at 50 and 25m and it was still consistently 6MOA. While printing 2MoA bugholes with the same ammo using Vz58.

Pretty much my observation as well.

Pfft. Sounds like sour grapes to me. A bunch of fudds who didn't get in on the sale are complaining people are upselling. If some dummy wants to give me $1000 more than what I paid you're damned right I'm selling it. Screw you moral police. Stupid people are like cattle - bred for my well-being.

Can’t agree more

Hand-rubbing intensifies... what a nice human you are.

Fudd is another meaningless term that gets over-used. By definition a "fudd" would never want a Type-81 in the first place, as he would be well served by his Savage Axis.

For me, personally, I'm served well by my Chinese SKS's, Type 97, and M-14. I don't have much use for another semi, especially one with such variable QC. I rolled the dice and won with my previous Chineseum guns, no need to roll again for something that doesn't interest me.

Lots of Karens on this site that feel the need to micromanage how others operate.

I, personally, don't care what you do. Just don't get all bent out of shape when people call you out on crap behaviour (edit: if this is something you do). The likes of Johnny boy up there may be happy to screw over his fellow enthusiasts, but I'll take a pass. The sport needs less people like that, especially one under fire as much as it is.

Please sell me your house for what you paid 6 months-40 years ago. It’s the right thing to do....

are the T81 rifles better or worse than a true SKS-D (ak mag release type)

and how does the arrival of these rifles affect the value of pristine condition SKS-D rifles

from all the accuracy reports I've seen, I'm not sure the t-81 is an upgrade from an sks-d
haven't had the chance to hold or fire one so is why i ask.

I just had a chat with a very friendly worker at TI, I have a couple of things coming in. I was informed that more of all 3 types of rifle are coming in and should be available in the new year, probably January after the mail rush has let up. Im looking forward to that barring another OIC ban announcement from our government who are only trying to protect us from everything. (Sarcasm).

I’ve owned a couple of SKS-D’s over the years, the last was a 16” Restricted in the Factory thumbhole stock. The main reason for buying one is because at the time it was the closest looking thing to an AK available. When the VZs arrived, the Ds got sold because the VZs looked cooler and a little more AKish. The Type 81 is the closest rifle yet to resembling an AK and for that reason I prefer it. And it shoots well enough for me, I’m just a plinker :)

T81 was never in competition with sks-d, it was more with the vz58 but now the vz58 is banned and TI said the production of t81 ended, the price rose but according to my post just above this. it seems they are coming in again, not sure tho

the rising value of the sks-d was stopped when the sks-kd showed up.

They said they have orders in for all 3 types and they will be coming early next year. With the LMG arriving next month but they want to do it right and avoid the mail rush of christmas. Thats all I can report.

IMO A sks-d is basically an SKS.... id honestly rate it below ur average sks cus it lacks a last round hold open. In comparison to Vz58 and Type 81 mags.....AK mags are overrated.

A Type 81 rifle:

Possibly lighter
Better balanced
Has a better trigger
Better safety
Feeds soft points better
Has better ergos
Easier to clean
Has a softer recoil impulse
Is more unique
Looks more like an AK

Yup, lots on the EE. I've seen a few for a reasonable price and they didn't last long... Many of these guys on the EE obviously know nothing of "supply and demand" or free markets... because, the market is saturated. A saturated market means prices goes down. Dirp! Plus, the demand, or "buzz" has diminished. There is more coming in and the prices aren't going up. Lots of supply, and little demand. If there was an actual strong demand all those inflated priced rifles would have sold by now. Most have been just sitting there and getting bumped.

For the guys who tout "supply and demand", there it is. Your rifles ain't worth sheet! You may get one fool but, that fool has a lot of options to choose from now.
