Here's the best way I found to make sure I don't need to worry about having enough 290gr Matrix ahead of a stomach full of CF8506.
That bullet is heavy enough, and sleek enough that it works at any altitude from sea level to 5000 ft, -35C to +25C, rain, fog, sleet, and snow, so far anyway. Handy and secure, this pouch only needs to be refilled about once every three years. We really don't need to overthink this stuff.
Wear it on your belt, in the small of your back, and you'll hardly know it's there.

I brought home all the bison except the hide and guts, the weight 1,049 lbs. I can't estimate the gut weight. In mass it is about 40 % of body size. Any body want to guess guts and hide weight?.Again, well doneand thanks for the info. A couple more quick details if I may ask. Where did you hit on the bull and a guess at the on the hoof weight?

I have a question for all the 9.3 aficionados out there: aside from the Speer 270 and prvi bullets, are there any cheap bullets out there, particularly light weight and suitable for deer? Also, what is your opinion on the Speer? Some message boards praise while others curse it

Through two big moose ribs going in, then about thirty inches to break the off shoulder, not the scapula, and stopped just under the hide.

I have seen a bunch of 270 Speer bullets that look like that. M1978... The Speer 270 is excellent in my experience on everything from deer to moose.
I have killed a few black bear using it, but never hunted deer using one. Always had complete penetration and quickly over. Have never caught a bullet.
Would expect it to do the job on deer very well.

A quick question. Again, as one of my acquisitions at a gun show fairly recently, I've picked up a few boxes of, older I believe, 231gr and 286gr Norma. The reason I say 'older' is on the Norma bullet & brass display board in my reloading room, the 231gr isn't on it. Nor is the 231gr in either of my two old Norma Gunbugs Guide manuals but the box the bullets are in is distinctly marked 231gr. My bullet display board shows & the two manuals lists two variations of the 232gr weight and two of the 286gr weight.

Not at present. After some issues back a while with photobucket, 
I haven't yet made any arrangements to post photos. I will hang on to the box until your next visit. With the initial accuracy results I got with using the 285gr PRVI, I've decided on them as my primary 'go to' bullet. And, to that end with to what I already had, I've accumulated a more than additional adequate supply from Trade Ex.
