Most overrated rifle

Oh, the Swedes want them, they just can't have them. There are restrictions on the number of guns allowed to be owned in Sweden. When you reach your gun ownership limit it is necessary to trade in a used gun if you want to buy another gun. These used guns pile up in the gun stores and are sold wholesale to North American importers.

Current Swedish Gun Limits (from Anders):

6 rifles/shotguns on a hunting licence.

8 rifles/shotguns on a target shooting license.

Almost,
6 guns for "hunting purposes" some restrictions may apply... (ie loads) and the way it works is the first 4 are "free" (the police still has to issue a license for each firearm, but you don't need a "reason" to buy them) the last 2 you have to submit a reason to the police why you need those specific guns.

As for sport shooting I'm not aware of a limit to how many you can own, however, because everything is up to the individual reviewing your application at the police they may very well just stop issuing you licenses. This probably varies greatly across the country, as again, it's up to each individual administrator.

Now the plus is that nothing is technically banned, as long as you have a reason (member of a shooting club or collector) you can more or less own whatever you want. But that almost never happens in practice.

What about handguns friend?

I think peoples definition of overrated is different than mine.If you buy a cheap ass rifle ie 10 22, Savage Axis bla bla bla and than you are disappointed with the results.I think the saying goes "you get what you pay for ".If you pay big money with grandiose claims that don't mate up than that is what I call overrated. Is it not ?
Prime example is a Sako rifles claims, DEMAND PERFECTION ,WORLDS MOST PRESTIGIOUS RIFLE ,WORLDS MOST ADVANCED TURN BOLT RIFLE AVAILABLE.My experience is not the same as there claims,I see an inherently problematic scope mounting system, poor ejection design ,I mean who designs the ejector to go straight up into the scope .Problematic unreliable feeding.Cheap ass heavy plastic stocks .I mean for the price point these should not be issues you would expect from there claims.Just my observations.

it is 10 handguns or 8 handguns and rifles/shotguns. guns registered for sport shootings cannot be used for hunting.

Again, not the law, just something the police decided to start enforcing. There are however restrictions to how many firearms a residence may contain, based on a point-system. If I'm not mistaken handguns are 2 points, long guns are 1 and anything full auto is 5 points. However, if your storage is deemed adequate by the police you could theoretically store as many as you like. I know a collector, who also happens to be big into sport shooting, who has 60 some odd firearms in his residence.

it depends on your status but again european and swedish legislations are so complex that even our firearms act is easy lol ...and my swedish is less than basic lol ...

in a nanny/state police like sweden police is pushing the law at their advantage like in canada and on firearms it is the same.
