Would be much more interesting if it was shooting .284 bullets...

.277vs.284....7 thou difference, never really understood the need for anything .277 personally.
....... or vice versa.
7mm bullets are much more diverse, way more options for everything from varmint to long range hunting to VLD target. Has been that way for decades.
I agree (& do hunt with a pair of 7mms, no 270s), but the average Joe Hunter is well served by both and with the exception of the 7mm RemMag, the 270 offers better access to factory ammo. Has been that way for decades.
Saying that ..... There seems to be more bullets coming available for the 270s.

That said, I've used the 150 LRAB's in a 270, and they work fine, decent BC, not giving up much to the new cartridge with those.
The bottom line for reloaders is that there are no bullets for sale right now anyways.
6.5 Creedmoor / 6.8 Western / 270 WSM

What does the Western have to offer over the WSM?
only gives up a little bit everywhere to the 6.8W
Increased downrange performance, more versatility from the 7.5 twist barrel, optimized factory ammo , and it pisses off Luddites
<LOL> ..... I'm sure there are some out there that will take exception to this new King of the 270s.
If only JOC could be here to celebrate this new cartridge. He would have instantly fallen in love with it!
