UPS playing games now with gun/ammo shipments

It seems like it's time for all firearm businesses to get together and start a specialized shipping company that will serve the industry.. pretty soon we are all going to get "cancelled" everywhere else completely so that seems to be the only way to stay in the game.

The irony in your post hurts so good.

If you want to see how a 2 party system works, look at the dumpster fire to our south. There are varying degrees of the political spectrum, lumping things into black and white without the shades of grey, creates a whole new problem. If you were to vote for A or B because they are the predominant parties, you do yourself and everyone else a disservice by eliminating choice and the ability to put forth action towards change you want to see.

To say we should only have 2 choices and if you don't agree with either, you're opinion and ideals are invalid, is the most ignorant and stupid thing i've heard in a while. Green have always had a snowflakes chance in hell, but NDP is a growing incredibly fast. They have a leader that is able to tap into the pool of young voters and those who have been more or less forgotten by current and past governments and policies. Alberta even got their first orange federal riding in the last election. To say those people don't care about their country or future is again, just ignorant. I know I care a lot about the land and the people, but I sure as hell won't vote for the party that wants to bulldoze conservation areas to build cookie cutter homes or high rises that they will then cater to foreign buyers and investment companies. As well too cutting social safety nets and supports for people that fall on hard times or have a problem they never asked for and have to live with for the remainder of their life. Not to mention the constant shafting of the working class and emergency services. They scream about supporti and how they are the backbone of the economy (heroes even) on camera, but instill raise caps, cut funding and take away valuable paid sick days and even cut down wage increases for those on the bottom rung of the ladder.

It sucks that they target shooting sports, but truthfully I'm more concerned about my ability to own a home and start a family at this point than I am about someone telling me I can't have X Y Z firearm. Besides, in the age of technology, guns and info is a mere click away. I maybe can't download a car that will run, but I can definitely download a gun that will work reliably.

NDP Voter? Thanks your opinion is in the trash where it belongs

Don't worry chief, maybe Jagmeet will offer some subsidized adult education plans that your taxes will pay for and hopefully you can participate too! Because it sure seems like you should read a book, probably been a while since you have. Don't be intimidated by the lack of pictures.

In my opinion, which are like a$$holes. I think the reason for the separate account is so they can track how much money they make moving ammo/firearms. This will let them see if they can afford to take the hit. You know, go woke, go broke.

Despite the dumpster fire as you refer to it.... at the end of the day... the US systems is in many ways infinitely better than our political system. Here, with a majority you can do ANYTHING. The US system has enough checks and balances in place, that even a Biden or Trump can't really #### up much more than the countries image... politics is just theatrics... and unlike here the people's freedoms are mostly intact.

As for the NDP growing fast... yeah... ive seen that phenomenon more than once in my lifetime.... remember when there were the official opposition not that long ago... then poof! irrelevant again.

No party.... none of them give 2 ####s about you... only your votes and your $.

Democracy has nothing to do with it. This is capitalism you're mad about.

It's the choice of the business to conduct itself how it pleases, including but not limited to choosing to not transport firearms and ammo.

exactly. For the last few years, courier companies cannot meet the demand of online shopping, which expanded exponentially again with covid. When #### slows down and suddenly there is a glut in the market... they may want to rethink their position.... of course firearms and ammo will go first because shipping dangerous goods is a headache.... and you look "woke" by dropping them first... just like every business cashing in on pride and juneteenth.

100% this. Dangerous goods definitely have higher costs to ship (insurance, inspection, slower handling, etc), and company accounting might be antiquated enough to prevent delineation of dangerous goods from regular shipping, so getting a better idea of profit margin on dangerous goods might be the goal here. Its still concerning for sure, but having dealt with looking at data of transportation companies for my job i wouldn't be surprised if this is just a step that they should have done long ago to make sure that they're accurately pricing/gouging.

TFI , who owns CanPar (and Loomis and many other companies) also bought the UPS LTL company - that's the part that does the big 53' trailers from one side of the country to the other. Think of is as the wholesale end of the shipping. So UPS retail, the brown truck to your door is seperate company than UPS LTL. UPS retail is probably fine... But they can't get firearms and ammo from one city to the next, because that "interline" service is owned by the same company that owns CanPar. (And it's a publically traded company, not the government) https://tfiintl.com/en/

Info on owning UPS LTL:. https://tfiintl.com/en/news/

It's not owned by the government... it's a crown corp and also a for profit corporation.

So what difference is it if it's owned by the wealthy old woman in a foreign nation known as England?
Of course it's government owned, government run, and it's irrelevant that it's supposed to make a profit.

as I already quoted once Mr. G. Kasparov to Bernie for you - "Do not talk about socialism to me, I did live through it" ....

Your descendants will share a corner in a room with all shared no-running-water conveniences outside of a barrack .. if your commie dippers idols come and stay in power for a while ...

Social safety net? "One who doesn't work doesn't eat" ... remember that socialist/communist motto ...
administrative arrest from 2 weeks to a month and forced to clean city grounds to be fed if not working over 2 weeks at a state owned factory ..

Being heavily lobbied by the anti's is what is happening. Shamed for being involved in the transport and distribution of "implements of death".

I disagree.
If there is any influence causing this, it is from government.
Government and huge corporations don't care in the least what anyone thinks, it is only pretended that the anti-gun people's opinion matters because their wishes happen to fit the predetermined narrative.

In my opinion, likely the CEO and/or board members of UPS hate honest citizens owning guns, and decided they will continue making plenty of money without our business.
